  1. I talked with an agent of Quinn & Satterfield builders today, they are builing the single family portion of Pendleton West. Construction start of that part had to be pushed back. They decided they did not like the floor plans and exterior designs they had and decided to switch architects.
  2. The Main @ Broad building will be where the parking lot is. Where the plaza is, is where the new City Hall will be located. I say new but it will be a reconstruction of the old one they tore down. As for linking to images in Greenville County, GIS, it can not be done. What you need to do is tell it to print the image then right click and save the printer friendly version of the image, then you need to host that image somewhere and link to where you have it hosted.

There was a million awsome things announced in The Greenville News and Greenville Journal today. -14 story tower for Braod @ Main St. -Federal Court house selection down to three sites, one being the Gateway Site -The Carmike 7 at McCalister Square to reopen as a independent theater called the Camalot in time for Star Wars -all the stuff planned for Hollingsworth Land and more
  4. I went down to downtown Anderson last week to see where my friends restaurant will be and I was very very impreseed with their downtown. It has a ways to go but their downtown has tons of potential. Good news the old hotel at Main and Whitner is undercontract, I would love to see that thing converted to condos. I had been downtown Anderson many times but always went straight to Corbett McGees and always at night, so seeing how big their downtown was, was a huge surprise.
  5. If you drive by you can see holes all through the building where they have removed the HVAC units from under the windows.

  7. Greenville Plans Massive West End Park Check that article out from WYFF. This is NOT the same thing as the Kroc center, but in addition to it weather we get the Kroc Center or not. "The city intends to build a 160-acre park along the Reedy River between Academy Street and the Norfolk Southern rail yards." "The park would be larger than Cleveland Park and Falls Park combined" I have since heard that it will be called the Mabry Park
  8. There is an article in today's Greenville News about two new projects in the Haynie-Sirrine neighborhood in downtown Greenville. Haynie-Sirrine residents welcome upscale project. One project is the Biltmore Oaks located just down Pearl Ave. from The Brio. 41 Townhomes ranging in price from $180,000- $380,000. Biltmore Oaks Web Site The other project is Heritage Crest, 56 Condos ranging from $75,000-$140,000. No mention if it will be a large building or mulitple buildings or townhouse style. Nice to see new things happening in that area.
  9. I do not know of any web address yet, BUT I think they have that kind of information in the windows of the store being converted.
  10. Originally there was three phases Phase One: Riverplace (office), 155 E. Riverplace, Riverhouse, Hampton Inn Phase Two: Terrace @ Riverplace & Three others Phase Three: Large office on River St. Then they decided to Include the The Terrace in Phase I so that they could close in the fountain. But I recently read that Phase one would now be all eight buildings of phases one & two. That is the way I understand it.
  11. I have heard that as well. I think that would be in building nine if that were to happen, and that one is a few years off.
  12. I think I heard that a Pharmacy is coming to the West End Market, also I have heard that they want a Grocery store to be in the Development with the Ball Field in the West End.
  13. Some developments now have sites. The Camperdown - Condos Terrace at Riverplace - Condos building 5 of Riverplace. Originaly was going to be apartments, now going to be condos. Starting at $300,000 Pendleton West- Mixed Use Still underconsturction, but this is the address for when the site is done. BTW, the Plaza @ Bergamo should start construction in May.
  14. I can't either. Also, the article said they will go ahead with the office building even if they haven't resolved the issues with the Kimbrell's building. Also, Today's Greenville Journal in an article about downtown living mentioned that the old Greenville Furniture store on Main St. was being converted to 8 condos ranging in price from $700,000 to $1.2 mil.
  15. Yesterday I received the new issue of GSA Business and one of the main articles was about Keystone Properties fiight to Demolish the Kimbrell's Building. If you dont know Keystone is planning a 12 sotry office tower on McBee and they want to create a public park on Main St to access the building. This park would be where the kimbrell's building now stands. Well the bad news in the article other than the denial to tear down the building was that reports of an underground theater are inaccurate. That stinks, but now that I think about it, it said innaccurate, maybe that just means it will be above ground? Anyway thought I would share. Oh also it hinted that accross McBee where Main @ McBee is going to be that the project may be tied up becuase of the demolition of the Kress building. I don't know the reason, but maybe they did not get permission from the historial preservation committee to tear it down. That is just speculation though.
  16. I talked to them the other day, I am under the imptression that it is just the single family homes that are starting up soon. They are being built by Quinn & Saterfield.
  17. Not totaly new, they probubly have over a dozen homes there now and many more in regualr montebello. So of the most unique homes in the upstate. They had a parade of homes there a few months ago. Last I heard they had not started any of the office or retail yet, but much of the village is in place.   18. I talked to the agent about it but didn't get that information. Units start at over $400,000 but I forget the number, i think there are 30-50 unit planned but I forget the actual number. But I did get conformation that it is at the site of the Sheerwood Apartments that ore being torn down.

I don't know if this is the same thing as the "Danial Island style development" but mixed in an article about ICAR in todays Greenville News there was mention that Verdea Properties was about to announce a 1,100 acre development accross I-85 from ICAR, and it also mentioned Rosen Associates who do the Milleniem Campus are planning something on the 200 acres across Laruens Rd. from ICAR. If this 1,100 acres which is to have homes, hotels and retail is the "Danial Island style development" I would think that there would be a few more than 100 homes. Watch, I bet there will be abother Golf Course.

I came accross this at justicestudio.com Cherokee Springs Village Spartanburg, South Carolina The design for this residential/commercial development included 300 single-family, attached and detached houses; 350 apartments; 100,000 square feet of retail/office space; a hotel; a church; a charter school; community greenspace/parks; and a neighborhood center, with a library and community clubhouse/pool facility. As the prime design professional, Justice Design Studio provided programming, master planning, and cost estimating services on the project. Anybody know anything about this?
  22. I think those blank walls are windows. The letter with the rendering mentioned that the building was going to be almost completely glass. So I think the smooth part of the building is supposed to be nothing but glass.
  23. The Marchant Co. now has infor on the camperdown including a rendering on their site. The information is in PDF so I can not post the rendering here but this is the link. Camperdown Condos I must sya, I was thinking this was going to be a tall skinny building but this looks like it is going to be a very large 12 stories.
  24. Sorry ten years is a long time for me. I have no idea how long ago, I just meant to say that it wasn't something newly planned.
  25. Ya, the other runway has been planned for a long time. IT may be a while till it happens but when the created the EGSP environs Special Land Usee areas they created part of it were a second runway will be. That way Hotels, office buildings, homes etc, will not be in the approach or takeoff of the new runway.
