  1. The Greer area is really booming. I wish I had some electronic photos with me to show you. New businesses are opening down town, high class stuff, and people are starting to renovate buildings, we have one that recently got a new facade and two getting new facades right now. I wish I had the renderings with me. Greer has annexed alot of land recently as well becuase to get Sewer from the Greer CPW you must be in the city. If you ever get to see that city limits they are odd, expand largers than Greenville, but moves intentacles, becuase they finger annex. Not to far back they annexed the area around lake Robinson so they could provide sewer for a new sudivision, THe Blueridge Plantation will have 1,100 homes when it is complete and a 600 home subdivision is going up next to that. Also, on another topic, Greenville is building lots of new schools right now, big schools. Off the top of my head I can think of a few under construction, Riverside High, Wade Hampton High, The Fine Arts Center, Beck Academy, The Gifted Center, Eastside High, Northwood Middle and I know there are many more.   2. Oh ya, and don't forget about Pendelton West. Pendelton West That is one of a few redevelopment projects The Randolph Group is doing for The City of Greenville. The Old Relax Inn the article mentions was an hourly hotel used buy prostitutes that they city bought just so they could tear it down. Brad

I can think of a few others. 1) North Hampton Market - www.capllc.com in the finishing stages, the Target, PETsMART, and Hobby Lobby are already open. 2) Spartanburg Regional Hosptial System's new Greer Campus on HWY 14 just a few miles from the GHS's new Greer Campus 3)International Trade Center - Vivian Wong's Development near ICAR, supposed to attract foreign companies to the upstate. 4) The Matrix - Built on Spec to try to entice a pharmaceutical company to the upstate. 5) Renovation and addtion to the Palmetto Expo Center. And I can think of a few others, smaller on scale such as Crescentwood Village on Butler Rd. and Cottage Corners on HWY 290 across form the Greenville Tech Greer Campus. Brad

  6. This is another Condo project, this one is near down town in the Montebello Subdivision on Piney Mountain. It will be 8 eight unit buildings and 8 twelve unit buildings. Condo in Montebello Brad
  7. Greenville has many Theater buildings only 2 theaters Once Cerrydale opened all but Hollywood Twenty Shut down. A few became Churchs, some were torn down. And the Regal 10 on Pelham probubly could be opened back up. Should be opened I think there is room in the market for 10 more screens. As for the downtown theater, its nothing final, its in rumor, or planning stages now, but that is a bigger site than you may realize, it would include the site where a automotive repair station was that was torn down recently. The other rumors are that the theater may go in the Riverplace development.
  8. Clemson Area Transit actullay has plans for Light Rail from the University, actually the Amtrack station on HWY123 to Greenville via Easly. Eventually that line would also go to the GSP Airport. Also their are discussionsabout a Charlotte To Atlanta High Speed line that would go through Spartanburgh, Greenville, and Clemson. Not sure if you have seen Vision 2025 for Greenville but they mention a line from Easly, Powdersville, Greenville, Taylors, Greer, Spartanburg, And Travelers Rest, Greenville, Mauldin, Simpsonville, Fountain Inn. I need to find the link, but looks like Rail Transit has a bright future for the area. I know the City of Greenville owns the rail along Laurens Rd. or so I have heard. Also, the CSX and Norfolk Souther Lines running through Greer are going to be combined in the near future. Brad
  9. The Building at Main and McBee is being done by KDS properties, the smae company that is doing Villagio Verde. The building can be seen on the website in the available properties section. Main & McBee But, here is a photo, It is no done deal though, they need to lease some of it out before they go ahead with it. Also, I am new to this board but are any of you familiar with what is replacing the young fashions building on the left side of the Piazza Bergamo? And has anyone heard anything recently about the Movie Theater possibility for the site where the Kimbrells Furniture building currently stands on Main St. I also havent seen anyone mention The Brio on Church St. you can get information from it at www.chooseauction.com. It is the renovation of the old Ramada Inn and will have 52 condos in phase one. Additional street retail and condos will be built in phase two. Brad Toy
