  1. Interesting. I can’t tell from the website who is running this. Any ideas? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. New spectrum long term care faculty, replacing services currently being provided at the former Kent community hospital building on fuller. The other site on leffingwell is close to done. https://newsroom.spectrumhealth.org/spectrum-health-to-build-new-rehab-long-term-care-facilities/ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I’m not sure where this info came from, but They were open today and owner John said there are no plans to close. My wife did ask about the for sale sign that has been in the window for several weeks. She was told something like “the building has always been for sale for the right price” Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I first saw iccf plans for division/wealthy in 2004 ish from a student who worked on it. Anybody here part of that first rendering/process? I can’t remember if the drawings above were part of that. I seem to remember they were in color - but that was a long time ago Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. A lot of people care. All those salaries contribute to the cost of healthcare in our community and make healthcare and health care insurance more difficult to afford. Just because other people/industries are doing it doesn’t mean it’s a good thing for our community. Spectrum Health says they are committed to to lowering health care costs, and part of that is examining how they spend their money. For community based non profit there is not a lot of public information about how much total compensation the top people receive. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. The old Amtrak station has been repainted in candy shop colors. Anybody know what the plans are for the building? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Spectrum does not have a great history with that. They had the opportunity to do this on their building on Michigan, but instead they located the restaurants in an interior food court, leaving blank wall and parking ramp entrances along the Michigan sidewalk Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. I continue to bike there most Saturday mornings There are several groups of tents along the river there. It also looks like they are the process of upgrading the electric transmission towers that travel over the old dump. As of last week all the old towers were surrounded by wood platforms, which I believe are to prevent heavy equipment from sinking in the mud. New tower parts were on the ground beside. Anyway know the story on this upgrade? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Yep Story just posted to MLive.com. It’s behind the paywall, so I’m not sure how to share it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Any updates on this ? I recently found the bike path around the dump and it does seem to be a good spot for a big solar farm. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. See if you can figure out the history behind this. I found it in a parkway in the east hills neighborhood. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Looks like more than take out. Here is a pic through their front window. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Is it March 12 then? I will be there Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  16. Please tell us that the Plant Parlor across the street is just moving, and there is not going to be two plant stores within a couple hundred feet of each other.
  17. Ok. But I’m curious why you think so. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Redevelopment is good idea, but it might be a bit tricky since the buildings/property is not owned by a single entity. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Mandating a percentage of affordable housing in a development is also known as "inclusionary zoning." While i also think it sounds like a great idea, it is illegal in the state of Michigan. State law would need to change to have something like in Boulder. Also, from what i understand with the point system that is used to allocate LIHTC grants, it is MUCH easier for a developer to do 40 units of low income all in one building than to do a mix of low income and market rate. It sound like this is one of the few projects where that extra effort was put in.
  20. Does anybody know What’s this Thing on top of the light pole being installed at the corner of wealthy and fuller? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Wow! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. I heard yesterday that the main issue with the #19 now is that The Rapid does not have enough busses to ideally handle all the riders during peak times Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Looks like their original fence design was a bit more modern ( more narrow horizontal fence pickets), while what ended up putting up more closely matches what was there on historical pictures. below is a pic from the packet In other related news, looks like Paul Lee and co are looking at a demo permit for house directly behind (north) of Donkey. Wonder what they have planned . . . .
  24. My dog thought the “lawn” was interesting too. It does look nice. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. “Medicaid doesn't cover prescription drugs last I knew, leaving the financial burden on the patient. “ Medicaid covers prescriptions https://www.michigan.gov/mdhhs/0,5885,7-339-71547_4860-380454--,00.html Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
