I grew up in a cotton-rich area of rural Tennessee. By late October, it was like snowfall the fields were so white.

Driving through northern SC near the Sandhills region  is the same. Huge fields of puffy balls of cotton. It's magical to stand there during a decent wind gust.

Great spot for retired folks to take up the hobby of complaining about airport noise and going to city council meetings to demand the runways be moved.

"I swear something changed. When I first moved in, we were not directly in the flight path to the runways. But I SWEAR something changed and now all the airplanes go right over our house."

Update Lennar's new community has site development being done drove by today the one near the coal ash ponds on Mt Island Lake.  These photos are from Trilogy Shea Homes 55+ plus community up in Denver.  It is BOOMING and they just opened their 30,000 sq ft clubhouse. Basically a country club without the golf course, Indoor outdoor pools, billiards, chef driven dining, bar, kitchen for cooking lessons, electric bike rentals, artist studio.  Everything a retired person would want. Message me for more details LOL.  The Charlotte area is really attracting lots of retirees due to our low cost of living, great healthcare, great airport, mild climate, location between NE and Florida.  (Plus your parents may want to be close to their grandkids or their millenial age children!)

This is the monthly report from Cabarrus County Economic Development agency.  This has been going this way for the last several months.

The EDC received 15 new RFIs (Requests for

Informaon) in October. The EDC normally

averages 9 new requests per month. The EDC

submied sites/buildings for 13 of the

requests and added 1 exisng industry

project. The EDC could not nd a suitable

site or building opon for 2 RFIs. The EDC

had 2 site visits during October

They are averaging much more interest in the last 6 months from companies wanting to expand to Cabarrus.

PreGel the Italian owned gelato distributor is expanding its Concord facility in a $14 million investment and 110,000 sq ft no new jobs but much larger facility.   Concord's International Business Park is just that it has 3  Japanese companies, 2 Italian, 1 French and 1 German company  in this business park.
