Carolina Theatre built in 1926 . There was a lot of construction in downtown Greensboro that year (during the roaring 20s) which also included the King Cotton Hotel, the depot, the 15 story Greensboro National Bank, now the Guilford Building. The 17 story Jefferson Standard Building was built in 1923 and was the tallest building in the south at the time.
