I know that the building is no architectural wonder, but it looks much better than I ever expected it to look. Personally, I think it looks nice.

That's not half bad, especially for a Residence Inn. I saw the rendering earlier in the thread, and I agree with you guys that it looks better than I would have expected. That shot also reminded me a bit of DC.

I have to say that's a good looking building. Turned out nicely. Lends a more modern look to this area of Brambleton, which tends to be on the traditional side. Great project.

I must say I like this building much more than I expected when I first saw the rendering. I hope they plan to do something with the white wall along the side. I don't know if it will be covered with brick or maybe painted.

This is creating a really nice street wall on the south side of brambleton. This is what I call coming of age for norfolk. Remember when that was ALL PARKING LOTS!

It really is awesome. Kinda off topic but is biking allowed on the sidewalks in Norfolk? I was thinking of riding around DT tomorrow. Would be nice to see all of this progress up close and personal.

That is also quite possibly the ugliest building downtown. I think when they built it they used the architecture book as toilet paper. It looks like they stood a parking lot on end and put a building behind it.

We have the Quest building here in Portland that is just horrible...thankfully it is tucked away in the city. Though, the reason for mention this was a few years ago someone was telling me the city was going to tear down an old jail they are not using and I thought it was this building....phone companies really like jails...of course on the plus side, if a phone company goes under, the city could actually use them as a jail.
