Sonics: New arena may surpass $500M

That's expensive! OKC businessman/owner Clayton Bennett is requesting $300M of the estimated cost from the state. Does it really benefit the entire state? Perhaps the Metro- Seattle region, but thats a steep bill.

What does everyone else think?

Sonics bill moves forward

Looks like this is moving forward in the state legislature, and it looks like with both plans that its moving out of Seattle into either Renton or Bellvue.

I read a blurb saying Gregoire is 'warming' to the arena plan.

I havent really kept up with the NBA so im just now finding out that The SuperSonics are moving to Oklahoma City.

New Orleans had been struggling, but that soon changed when they got on a roll and won the Southwest Division; then made the impressive playoff run. Winning does wonders; the crowds came back big-time. Winning is something the Grizzlies and Sonics hadn't done much of recently.

Hated to see the Sonics leave Seattle; kinda hard to believe.

I know Kansas City is waiting in line for a NBA team with their new fancy Sprint Arena.
