Does this mean "Goodbye Richmond" by one of the remaining 7 five-hundreds?

And those of you who think the loss of a triple A franchise is a trifle are living in the dark ages that have plagued Richmond's advancement for generations, IMO.

Blackstone seems to be picking up a lot of companies, lately. I hate to say it, but with the People's Republic of China having a 10% stake in the company, I am a bit nervous.

Here's the full story on the Performance Food Group merger. While this company will be reduced to a Fortune 1000 corporation -- the 13th in Metro Richmond -- the area will once again have seven Fortune 500 companies when Altria moves in later this year.

The company, since it will be private, won't be a Fortune 1000 at all. Good to hear the HQ and jobs won't be affected though.

Richmond's Martin Agency is now the #3 Advertising Firm in the country

http://www.inrich.com/cva/ric/news.apx.-co...01-21-0187.html

The Richmond-based agency jumps from the fifth spot in last year's rankings past Madison Avenue stalwarts Saatchi & Saatchi and Edelman.

Known for its work on campaigns for Wal-Mart, Geico Insurance and UPS, Martin also does work for BFGoodrich, Hanes, NASCAR and Sirius Satellite Radio.

Apparently a large majority of Altria employees have opted out of relocating to Richmond. This inRich story about the official spin-off of PM International makes no mention of the new downtown research facility:

Oh well. Those people will be missing out. :shades:

There's one coming to Short Pump... you should tell them how much you want one in the city/downtown.

I've heard they haven't inked the deal, yet... Hence the post.

I submit my zip code (23220, which is ~ The Fan) about once a month, so I think they get the picture. haha.

Too bad Ukrop's ruined our shot at having one on Libbie Ave...

Another paper products company is coming to Richmond. Kansas City, MO based Apsen Products, Inc will be moving into a 146,000 sqft plant off of Jeff Davis Hwy. Please refer to inrich article link:

Is the headquarters moving here or is it just some operations that are moving to Richmond? Sorry, that part just seemed a bit unclear.

It seemed a bit unclear to me as well. The article makes it sound like either-or.

Regardless, this is still good news.
