I figured some must be tired of all those polls about who has this and that. Im guilty of making a couple, so Id like to see something with no competition Id like to see photos of the historic neighborhoods, landmarks, buildings that set your city apart from the rest. The South is full of history, Ill start off by posting some shots of Richmond's Historic Shockoe Slip and Shockoe Bottom District.

General Andrew Jackson met with the Lafitte brothers in this house to discuss plans for the Battle of New Orleans, the battle that while fought after the war of 1812 had officially ended, sealed America's independence from the British

Charity Hospital is the second oldest operating hospital in the U.S. It has been operating for over 270 years. It has been operated in this building for over 65 years

The Saint Charles Avenue Streetcar Line is the oldest operating streetcar line in the U.S. The line has been in operation for over 170 years. Though the cars themselves are currenly running on other lines due to damage to the Saint Charles Ave. Line from Katrina.

The Mississippi River, the river that caused 3 countries to fight over control of New Orleans, the river that historically countries in the Carribean depended on, and the river that today makes the Port of South Louisiana the largest port in the western hemisphere, and the busiest port in the world in terms of tonnage

While some may not consider this historic, these trees on Main Street have been very significant in Greenville since they were planted 25 years ago. Talk about unique charm!

What a great thread idea! here are some photos from Spartanburg's Morgan Square, the historic core of the city. Morgan Square was recently renovated, so everything still looks fresh.

That area of Richmond looks familar. Is that near/or IS Chamberlayne Ave?? I believe that road takes you to downtown.
