Well, dammit, now I just don't remember. Either way, I remember seeing somewhere that the bank had bought the land and that is why Kinnys moved. I don't remember know though.

Second part: No, not that I know of. It seems like it would be but they don't have a presence at all in Traverse City, just farther north. It seems like an awfully big building just for a branch office and I can't imagine that their HQ in Harbor Springs is even close to that big.

i looked up there website, and it doesnt say a thing about a TC branch.

edit- i looked at the Record Eagle, and it says its The Bank of Northern Michigan ?

from the banks site-

We began with an office in Petoskey serving the Petoskey, Harbor Springs, Boyne City, Charlevoix and Indian River communities, expanded our footprint into Gaylord in January of 2006 and are now completing further expansion by opening an office in Traverse City that will serve the entire Grand Traverse community.

It's actually gone now, torn down last summer. I don't really know if it had a name, but it was a coal-fired power plant run by Traverse City Light and Power. Cool pictures though. The second one of the Grand Traverse Resort is pretty neat. I always forget just how big the place is, not just the tower, but all the condo's and other hotel rooms that are connected to it. I really liked the third pic.

I thought I'd look up some information online about Traverse City since I didn't know much about it and I found wikipedia's profile on it really interesting.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Traverse_City

I was very suprised though to read that in the 2000 census it only had 14,532 people. I thought Traverse City had way more then that.

Actually, our population more than doubles the week of the Cherry Festival!

Hello everyone!! I am Anne, and was born in raised in Traverse City. I actually bought our family home from my father last year!

We love to complain about living here, but honeslty, I think we are the luckiest people on earth! It is truly beautiful here!! I have taken some lovely fall pictures, and if no one minds, I will post some soon! The colors here are truly extraordinary right now!!

I work for an environmental firm right now, though I am working on my masters in mental health counseling, so soon, I hope to be working in that field!

But even with the beauty of the area, we have people that find it more impressive to tear up wetlands and BUILD BUILD BUILD. Very annoying!!

Forgot to add news - not much - it was Apple Days here last week - went shopping downtown on Saturday, got some apples :P

I have been far too busy to pay attention to construction, however, I live a block away from where they tore a bunch of trees down to biuld these townhouses, and now that they're going up, they can't sell them!!! Shouldn't they have maybe checked to see if anyone wanted them BEFORE tearing down all the tress? the neighbordhood hated the idea!!!

haha, i cant snow that much, only a an inch or less, right?

Federated Properties is Back? We could be seeing building at the site of the previous proposal.

hopefully no public money is used in building it, that way the residents cant complain and get the project squashed.
