Instead of August 26th, 2005 it will now be September 12, 2005...

I am trying to forget about this project, but i just can't. I keep on thinking about how this project will turn out. This project is like suppose to be 10 stories right now. We suppose to see it from tennessee.

How is it supossed to be 10 stories if the ground breaking was originally set for August 26th?

^Because it was set for May, then June, then August, now September.

^They never officially released a date until the August 26th... those other dates were guesses.

As I've told everyone... I work for the City. Well today I was making a run to the Economic Development office when I overheard about 10 minutes of conversation between Economic Development officials and the developers of the Plaza Tower... because my job requires me to protect information until it is formally released I cannot go into any detail... but I can say to all who are worried that this project will become another dead project that their fears are in vain. This project is safe, and there is absolutely nothing to worry about.

Well let me just say this, the developer sounded very excited to get started on the phone. There are a few minor details as they relate to the other buildings on the plaza that need to be resolved. They should be easily handled, btw.

There was also a mention of where they would park their trailor and crew materials... but again, those details are being combed out, as we speak so to speak. A date was mentioned... it wasn't the date I was given, but again I'm not free to give that date out. But it is in the month of September.

If anything becomes free for the telling, UrbanPlanet will be first to know.

Whats important is that we know the project is in good standing, and still moving along, unlike the Marriott Convention Hotel.

I'm a little shaken at the thought that it may suffer further delay because of whats going on along the Gulf Coast as a result of the hurricane hit, but I think we'll be fine.

I would like to say hey to everyone and I gotta say it's great to be back in Florida's Capital city (I was home, in DC, from FSU during the summer). My question on the Plaza Tower is regarding its height. Somebody mentioned a few days ago about it being ten stories. What happened to the original plan of 23?

the Plaza tower is still to be 20-23 stories... the Tallahassee Center, which is next door so to speak will be 11 stories.

I just had my opportunity to watch a small portion of the City Talk segment on the development downtown, and I'll be on the look out for some details to come thru the office regarding the 10 big name developers. I'm excited! Imagine a list of 20 or more projects in our downtown.
