Greensboro-based Deep River Partners plans to team with another local developer to build a 300-unit, luxury apartment community and two restaurants at the 12-acre former site of Cone Health Women's Hospital in Greensboro. Deep River hopes construction will begin next spring with completion in 1-2 years.

Brassfield Shopping Center has seen it's fair share of empty storefronts and outparcels in the recent past as Covid and other factors have created turnover of tenants. 
Big news releasing today about many new tenants starting up business in the shopping center is creating a buzz.

Golden Ticket Cinemas will open in the 27,000 sq-ft former location of the old Cinemark Brassfield Cinema Ten, estimated to open in Late Spring 2023.
Lowe's Home Improvement Outlet store will fill the 36,000 sq-ft location of the former SteinMart.
The Habit Burger, a Charburger eatery spot, will open where the former Chick-fil-a was before they built a new outparcel across the street.
Trek Cycling Store and an Indigo Art Studio should also be opening up within the next few months.
Crumbl Cookies and an XO Nail Lounge have also recently opened.

Not to mention the new Biscuitville outparcel, Trader Joe's, Gold's Gym, and Pet Supplies Plus have all been very successful since they've opened. 
It seems like the shopping center's lull phase is finally over.

That is odd...but I think Winston-Salem also doesn't have one yet either.

Winston should do one down W 4th Street and block in either direction north and south.  Charlotte is still "studying it"  But Kannapolis, Mooresville, Salisbury, Hickory, Albemarle have them and Concord will once some downtown streetscape work is finished.    Supposedly 2 maybe coming to Charlotte's NoDa and Plaza Midwood neighborhoods.  But nothing yet but red tape.

Looking at active areas in Charlotte there are probably several neighborhoods where they could start social districts. It probably is taking longer than it should but Charlotte will get them.

Cone Health has broken ground on it new heart and vascular center at the Cone Hospital campus. I do laugh though because every time Cone Health erects a 5 story building on the campus they call it a tower. But its a nice looking building.

The Northeastern corner of Pisgah Church and Lawndale will see redevelopment by Koury Corporation. The L shaped strip mall where the old (original) Fresh Market, Flamingo Road used to be, currently occupied by Delicious Bakery and Natural Dog, etc. will be vacated by the end of 2023. Natural Dog will move their business to 2431 Battleground Ave. where Omega Sports just closed their doors. The New Koury Redevelopment is planned, "to tie the properties along Lawndale and Pisgah Church into a rebranded 73-acre, contiguous, mixed-use development with multifamily housing, office, retail, restaurants and a parking garage." No timeline for the completion of the project is in place yet.

Here is the rendering of the redeveloped office building which is an achor for the 73 acre mixed-use development called CrossPoint. The Greensboro Science Center is a mile north on Lawndale from the development and I-840 is two miles north. This is what we need to see more of in other areas of the city outside of downtown. More mixed-use infill urban development.

A very large warehouse for lease on the southwest corner of W Market and Guilford College Rd was just built too. Will probably be used by suppliers for companies at the Airport.
