5 high rises in the North Hills area of Raleigh wrapping up construction.  2 office towers by Kane in North Hills, one 12 story apartment tower, another high rise apartment tower for the Cardinal a retirement community and one 10 story office building at the Exchange on St Albans Drive less than a mile away.   Also new RH store going up.    Amazing amount of development in this concentrated area of north Raleigh.    Kane has built a 2nd downtown for Raleigh for sure and it is executed well.   Love that Eastern apartment tower at  35 stories and 354 feet.

People in Charlotte:Raleigh has no high rises.   Raleighites:  see our cranes.  and also visit North Hills above.  I was told it is not the height but the street presence that matters.  

20 story apartment downtown right south of downtown along with a twin 20 story apartment towers called the Weld overlooking Dix Park.  

Historical facade saves for the Union West 23 story apartment tower aka RUSBUS the bus transfer station at Union Station across from the Dillon. 

That's 4 high rises in and around the downtown area not to mention 400H tower just finished off and the crane came down at the dual brand hotel high rise.

@rancenc posted this in the Durham UP threads but everyone needs to see this if you like this thread.  Durham is growing fast as well so here is updated very recent video of downtown.  A drone video tour of downtown Durham and the building under construction is a 27 story tower called Novus with both apartments and for sale condos.  Notice all the apartment developments around downtown and the Google office building.  Great video of downtown and very recent as I see the Christmas tree!   The Novus | Luxury Condos & Apartments in Durham NC

1750 feet tall 134 stories in OKC.  could be the 2nd tallest building in the USA

I have promised @CLT Development that I will drive him  (and anyone else who can fit in my truck) to OKC to see it and steaks on me at the world famous Cattlemen's Steakhouse. 

Cattlemen's Steakhouse - The Best Steak Restaurant in OKC (cattlemensrestaurant.com)  I have eaten here and it is fantastic.

This is big win for Raleigh with Swiss watchmaker Piguet choosing the Capital City for its new North American operations center.

""Swiss brand Audemars Piguet on Tuesday announced plans to invest $22 million and create 105 jobs at a new service center at Raleigh Iron Works, the new Grubb Ventures and Jamestown development along Atlantic Avenue. The plan is to put the company's North American Service Center in more than 60,000 square feet of office space.   

Audemars Piguet employs almost 3,000 people across the globe. In a statement, CEO Francois-Henry Bennahmias said that “quality of life, schools, health care, culture and safe communities were the major considerations for our teams" when choosing Raleigh.

Luxury swiss watchmaker Audemars Piguet adding more than 100 jobs in Raleigh - Axios Raleigh

This is Raleigh Iron Works a great redevelopment of an old steel mill site one of the few type sites like this in Raleigh.  No doubt this company looked at the Queen City and also noted in the Biz Journal article was RDU's new Lufthansa flight to Frankfurt for easy access back to Switzerland.  

Raleigh Iron Works    Camp North End meets Optimist Hall but in a smaller setting.    You ought to see this place next time in the Capital City and go down their 2 story slide!  It is fun and is for adults.

3rd Weld tower (The Weld Phase 2) will include 525 apartments and at least some retail.

do you think the third phase of the Weld going forward is in response to dad's (Mr John Kane) delays in Downtown South getting that started?   I think the Weld is being developed by Kane Jr.  sorry I can't remember his first name.

For sure it's because of the office element. This project is all residential and funding secure a couple years back while John Kane is old school and wants an office element at Downtown South. Sitting on empty office towers is not ideal.

Check out Kane's newest office tower in North Hills the 10 story One North Hills Tower and it overlooks I-440.  Plus they built this smaller 4 story building too.   Photos from Kane's website.  Love the angles on this office tower probably his best up at North Hills.  (my favorite Kane building is still the Dillon downtown)

from my last weeks visit to Durham the 27 story Novus condo and apartment tower that has been topped out.    This is the tallest building under construction in Raleigh Durham Cary and Chapel Hill.  (my photos)

Somewhat similar to the Gulch area of Nashville that sits in between Nashville's Downtown and Midtown.

17 story apartment tower and huge Lifetime Fitness club coming to  Exchange in the Midtown North Hills area of Raleigh  according to the Triangle Biz Journal.   This is a very interesting project that Lifetime Fitness is rolling out.  They have one of their mega clubs in Rea Farms Village in south Charlotte.    (that office tower is being built now and is over 60% preleased and it will connect to a 2nd tower with a bridge like that.)  This tower will go to the left of the rendering.
