Wow this came out of nowhere! Construction on luxury apartments, grocery store and retail begins on what is becoming an extention of downtown. Construction fencing has already gone up.

Bailey Village site work is definitely underway

Construction is definitely underway. Construction started pretty quick which has lately not been the norm for downtown Construction. The project is being developed by the United House of Prayer for All people which is a wealthy African-American national church organization. One of the mother house churches is across the street from Bailey Village.

The mother house church across the street. All the churches have lions at the entrances. There are churches in Charlotte, Raleigh and cities all across the country known for their extravagant architecture.

The church in Charlotte. The steeple looks to be 8 or 9 stories tall!

Really nice & contemporary, love the concept.  Are they apts or condos? I wished they could have gone up 5 stories and added elevators. Well anyways, the speed they put these up is awesome. I wish other developments in Gbo could move this fast.

They are upscale apartments and I agree I love the contemporary style. The apartment have large windows too.

Looks like the apartment buildings are nearly complete. Can't wait for the grocery store.

Grand opening for Bailey Village is today. Rent ranges from $1,000 to $1,700 a month.
