Carvana comes to Greensboro

Carvana known for its 8 to 9 story glass tower car vending machine is currently building a glass tower in Greensboro  off of I-40 near Wendover Ave.

Charlotte and Raleigh already have Carvana tower vending machine. North Carolina's third location will be in Greensboro. Basically you purchase a car online then you are given a special coin and you can pick up your car.

Construction is well under way with Carvana in Greensboro off of I-40. You can see the vending machine tower rising now.

This is what the typical vending towers look like.

at least your Carvana is along an interstate highway unlike the Charlotte one which is on South Blvd across from a light rail station!   Every Carvana I have seen in the country is along a freeway not like Charlotte's

Charlotte is such a large market. Who knows hopefully they'll build a second one along the freeway

Carvana opened an 8 story tower in Greensboro today. It's the 19th vending machine tower in the country and the third in North Carolina. Raleigh has a smaller one and Charlotte has one identical to Greensboro's.

Greensboro must have a larger penis.

Did you read the NYT article today ? They weren't discussing the sizes of Carvanas, but how to crawl of the tobacco-textiles-furniture 19th century economy.

Bigger means better, at least in his mind. Didn't you know?

No it didn't.  Don't try to interpret what I am saying, or try to read my mind.

Some years ago, I lived in Greensboro for a brief period of time. I really liked it, and I still like it today. I don't know as much about Winston-Salem, but I like it as well. My wife went to Wake Forest law school, and she also likes it.  The Triad area has a rich heritage , and is a great place. In fact, my son goes to Elon University. I graduated from Guilford College. I've done business in the Triad area over the past few years.

I discovered these forums only a few months ago. I discovered that certain people are sort of weird, and the "cityboi" person strikes me as one of the weird ones, and I don't think that I am the only one. The pirate guy is also a bit odd, in an entertaining, nauseating sort of way (Edward Teach).

The "penis" comment was meant in jest. The "citiboi" seems obsessed with Carvana, along with whatever is being built in Greensboro,  for whatever reason.

BTW - did you actually read the NYT article ?

That's an understatement, but you are correct.

Enabling urban planning enthusiasm on urbanplanet? How dare I!?

Instead of always coming to his defense like most of you guys do in the name of protecting enthusiasm,  or the fragile, or whatever, maybe you should start reading his posts with something other than rose colored glasses.
