Holy smokes.  Impressive.  Any retail?

Carroll wanted retail on the ground level but had to sacrifice that for parking.

are the apartments and the hotel going to share amenities like a pool or fitness room or anything?   It is  a really nice project and adding that many apartments to downtown GSO is good.

Actually the hotel and apartments will have their own pool and fitness rooms.

Thanks for the photos...but did we really need photos of the units? Basically all new apartments look exactly the same in terms of layout and fixtures, with minor styling details.

The interior show the quality of this development which quite frankly is more high end then the other apartments downtown. The layout and interior finishings are quite different from anything else downtown. But to me the interior is just important as the exterior. It can get boring just showing exterior shots all the time.

Hyatt place in downtown Greensboro will welcome its first guests March 15th and there are over 20 events already booked. Carroll will also make a major announcement about his other mixed-use planned development next to the parking deck the city is building diagonally across the street from Hyatt Place south of the ballpark in 30 days.

Interesting article about the opening of Hyatt Place and Carroll at Bellemeade. It also discusses about Carroll building an Aloft Hotel at Carroll at Bellemeade South across the street and Carroll wanting to build a convention center.

Has the Project Slugger office building started yet?

No but it suppose to begin sometime in the spring or summer.  The timing will be coordinated with the construction of the Eugene Street Parking deck which has to be completed first.  The deck project has been placed on a bidding website. Construction of the deck should happen rather quickly since the design will be basic being that surrounding development will be built around it.

Hyatt Place in downtown Greensboro is off to a fast start. Carroll proves there is high demand for new hotels in downtown Greensboro. Hyatt has informed Carroll that Hyatt Place in downtown Greensboro is among the top producers in the chain. More than 8,000 guests have stayed at the hotel since its opening in late February. Like I said all along. You can't use the downtown Marriott, which has always done poorly as a litmus test. The Marriott for one is too large for the downtown market and you have to look at branding. Hotel brands make all the difference in the world.  Add to the fact that activity is picking up downtown.

Even better. According to Hyatt, the Hyatt Place in downtown Greensboro is the the number one Hyatt Place in the country. The soft opening was in March not February. That means 8,000 guests have stayed in the hotel within three months.
