JSK Motel Management Inc., now operating the 183-room hotel as the Magnuson Hotel & Convention Center at Oyster Point, is planning to build a five-story water park and a 15-story high-rise on the 6-acre property.

The tower includes an additional 300 guest rooms, a bowling alley on the sixth floor, a mini mall, a roof-top nightclub, 32 to 53 condos or rental apartments with balconies, and a five-story parking garage.

Chesapeake-based JSK Management purchased the property, located at 1000 Omni Blvd., from Long Gate Associates LLC for $2.85 million, and expects to invest more than $102.2 million in the proposed additions. Under way now is a company-funded $50,000 project feasibility study to pinpoint any density, traffic or storm water issues.

Looks like it's being built next to the existing omni hotel. 15 stories should have quite a presence right next to the freeway.

Awesome news, hope this happens!  If only it were still an Omni hotel though :-/
