  1. Here is a link to an article that mentions reopening the Cosmopolitan Hotel on Royal Street and also gives a price tag on the Trump Tower. Hopefully, the city can address the issues brought up in the article. http://www.neworleanscitybusiness.com/UpTo....cfm?recID=5332
  2. Here is an article about the Trump Tower in New Orleans, since you have to register I have cut some of the article for you guys to read. Work to begin in 2007 on Trump's $400M project 2006-07-18 2:59 PM CST NEW ORLEANS
  3. No problem. It will reopen November 17. Along with some other stuff that hasnt reopened in the mall yet. Kenneth cole, gucci, anthropology armani exchange etc. Cheers.
  4. Its in The Shoppes at Canal Place. On Canal Street across from Harrahs. Hope that clears it up!
  5. Boomtown Casino on the Westbank will be building a 200 room hotel and expanding other amenities. Cheers, Derek Also I had a chance to walk through and see the ongoing work in the Saks Fifth Avenue. All I can say is , WOW! Totally going to kick ass when it opens. It certainly has some 60's look to it.
  6. Here is an article about the Tracage receiving approval: Condo tower near bridge endorsed Neighbors criticize plan as out of scale Article from the Times Picayune In the future, please post a link to the article rather than pasting the whole thing. Thanks!
  7. well here is a link to the architects website for that residential tower. Looks like he does some pretty amazing stuff. http://www.krjda.com/flash.html
  8. Yeah something is wrong witht hat 28 story figure because 367 feet is too tall for a residential building. That works out to 13 feet per floor. Seems kind of high to me. who knows because the paper has gotten the project wrong from the start.
  9. Now we know what the tower proposed by the Vantage is. It isnt even actually by the vantage. THe tower is being built by the new Harrahs and Loews Hotel. Here is an article about the zoning change he needs to get to build it. I am actually not sure ifI support building this project there. I wish they would not tear things down but intead build on parking lots. http://www.nola.com/news/t-p/metro/index.s...0120.xml&coll=1
  10. Yeah I live in the Warehouse District and the only thing I'd like to change is the addition of some more amenities like a small grocery and other things that I could walk too. Maybe I should just open one up, not that I know anything about that business, hhaa. By the way I reserved a unit in Tracage and I got the last available unit facing the river. So good news for the building being built. Cheers, Derek
  11. it is the article is written badly. I think the center building is 12 stories. Stacey head will probably approve this project cause it wont bulldoze any building. The property is actually pretty much vacant. So the few structures there will be renovated i guess. Overall a great project that should help gentrify some fo the area right there. Anotehr plus is its not far from downtown. We need to start surrounding our downtown with quality areas and not Ghettos.. Cheers.
  12. NEW CENTRAL CITY CONDO COMPLEX HERES A LINK TO THE ARTICLE: Link THIS WILL BE A GREAT PROJECT BEING THAT IT WILL BE ON VACANT LAND JUST NORTH OF THE HOUSTONS(GULF STREAM RESTAURANT ON ST CHARLES AVENUE) ALSO THE ARTICLE MENTIONS THE SAME DEVELOPER WILL BE TURNING THE TEXACO BUILDING ON CANAL STREET INTO CONDOS AND THE KRAUSS WAREHOUSE WILL BE APARTMENTS. THIS SHOULD REALLY HELP THE NORTH END OF CANAL STREET. PLUS THE AUDUBON BUILDING NEXT TO THE RITZ CARLTON IS BEING CONVERTED ALSO. THANKFULLY OUR NEW COUCILMEMBER WANTS TO MAKE CANAL STREET ONE OF HER PRIORITIES BY GETTING RID OF THE FAST FOOD RESTAURANTS AND T SHIRT SHOPS THERE. COULD BE REALLY NICE, THE ONLY THING LEFT TO DO IS GET RID OF THE IBERVILLE HOUSING PROJECT. Tennis1400, in the future, please remember not to post in all caps. Thanks!
  13. I too have no idea where the National Bank Building. It is not the same thing as the Kailas tower. I actually went and toured the Kailas Twoer the day before Katrina hit. Still, If anyone knows what the actual building the National American Bank Building is id appreciate it. I checked Emporis and could find it nowhere. Cheers, Derek
  14. Here is a link to the movie studio article from Nola.com: http://www.nola.com/frontpage/t-p/index.ss...63705183370.xml I think that link should work. Cheers, Derek
  15. Where do you think we can get more information on the project? Also there was a really neat rendering of the Erato Street Wharf but now I cant seem to find it. Its a really large project that will surprise you by how large it looks. 1,300 parking spaces. ALso you might even want to add that huge 100-150 million dollar movie studio someone wants to build in Mid City. Cheers.
  16. I doubt every project mentioned will get built but with the GOzone legislation thing s are going crazy. That 14 story building looks to be built some where by the Harrahs hotel. Seeing the Times had some addresses wrong before I dont know exactly. However, a tip to find locations is to go to go Google Maps. Type in the address. The Google system will show a map of the area, as well as a satellite pick. I have been using that when trying to track down what is being bought in the Orleans Real estate transfers. I didnt see anythign significant in there this week. Hope that helps you out. By the way what part of town do you live in. I actually live in the warehouse district right above Emerils. Cheers.
  17. Thanks for welcoming me. I am going to do my best to try and dig up some information on that 37 story proposal. ALso dont forget the article mentioned a 14 story hotel being built. Also, The Harrah's hotel is scheduled to open in September. Then they will begin the Fulton Street project. Should be a neat addition to the New Orleans nightlife scene. The Erato street cruise Terminal will also open in Spetember. I think the cruise industry is something that New Orleans should aggressively pursue. i dont see why we cant eventually be numebr 1 here. Miami is nice but i just dont think it offers a two destination experience the way New Orleans does, besides New Orleans is more centrally located to those that want to drive. I laso read a while back that someone is building two 30 something story towers in Metairie by Oschner Hospital for some type of senior assited living deal. I cant remember exactly.
  18. Hello Everyone, I too want to know what the 37 story condo going up in the warehouse district is all about. First, the newspaper has the address mixed up, because commerce street is not a possibility given the other streets the building is suggested to be located on. Im thinking that if this building is real it is probbaly located by the Vantage Tower, it cant be that one because it is 25 stories. So this must be a totally new project. Also, does anyone know what is going on with that project located on Rampart. I think it would be a great project to see go through over there. Im hoping that project combined with the bio tech center, medical district, new charity hospital, canal street improvements, and hopefully a complete reuse of Iberville will really transform that section of downtown and storyville. ALso I hear that Hard Rock hotel has purchased a square block of property located on tchoupitoulas by the Wal Mart. I dont know postively if they bought it, but the real estate transfers show the whole block was bought by someone for several million dollars. Also Home Depot bought a whole block right across from the superdome by the Claiborne and Earheart intersection. I know it isnt a high rise, but it will help to clean up and put some empty land to use for something. Cheers, Derek
  19. I also ran into Rande Gerber a few months back at Whiskey Blue. He said they are in town looking into building a Hard Rock Condotel in downtown New Orleans. And if you can i suggest you check out the Port of New Orlean's website for a rendering of the Erato street cruise terminal. It looks pretty large considering it is just a garage. Cheers.
  20. I think people should also remember the Convention Center Expansion. It should resume full construction again this summer. If you havent seen the renderings, it looks totally different from the existing halls. It is much more sleek , and has a wavy glass entrance. Then there is the erato street cruise terminal currently under construction.
