  1. Looks like a Caison rig is now on the Tracage site. Most people would consider that to be officialy under contruction.
  2. I wouldnt worry about that. Too much money was just spent on the current Supreme Court to even consider moving. But hey this guys from Shreveport, most of the time I wish they were part of texas!
  3. Yeah I have no idea what is going on with that project, but they must be starting soon. BTW, look at this link. Pretty cool to see the St Charles Streetcar touring America. http://lostnewyorkcity.blogspot.com/2007/0...mes-square.html
  4. Well here is a bid listing for the Plaza Tower AKA Crescent City Residences. http://www.bidclerk.com/projects/projectDe...rojectID=472096
  5. That woman really is horrible, just horrible! What is First Bank and Trust. i noticed the sign the other day from my condo and was wondering about the company. Thats two buildings this year that have added signs on top. ALso they started demolishinhg buildings for the DDay Museum. Does anyone know how the museum is going to be constructed, phases etc. Cant wait for the canopy thing!!
  6. Remember, if you have an erection that last more than 7 hours; call a friend and Brag!!!
  7. There isnt that much info on the new WTC project because of the short deadline people had. Their presentations were just conceptual, but this appears to be a dead certainty to happen. Finally, because the place is in an amazing location.
  8. MAybe you should just mess with her car brakes, hahaha! I have no idea how many signatures you would need but Im sure if you got enough people just to contact her she would wake up!
  9. Do you think it could be that 37 story highrise apartment building slated for Poydras. Im sure that will have street level retail.
  10. The city isnt really bad. I think that what we are saying here is that the Councilwomna from the East is bad. You should certainly come and visit the city. You will have a wonderful time. New Orleans is an amazing place, it just bothers thos eof us tha live here and know that while New Orleans is awesome it has the potential to be so much more. So we really want to do our best to help that happen. But the city does have a plan for reconstruction, THE UNOP, but we need federal funds to make it happen.
  11. Nope, so she really is the worst!
  12. Gosh that woman has to be the worst Councilperson of them all. She is consistently out of the loop, and if you have ever been to a council meeting she just doesnt listen. She only likes to hear herself talk, using words that frequently dont exist in the English language, about things she has no clue about. Perhaps if she were quiet and did her job instead of mouth off, she might actually know what is going on in her district. Lets hope she doesnt demand something ridiculous!! On a brighter note, Tom Fitzmorris says New Orleans metro area is now at 774 restaurants reopened. He doesnt count chain restaurants/fast food as restaurants. Anyway, the good news is that his last count before Katrina was 809. Thats simply amazing we should be ahead of where we were before Katrina by the end of the year. I can name about 10 offhand that will be open by the end of April.
  13. Yes I hope they do something out there. New Orleans's Lakefront is a crime considering how much potential it has. There needs to be a master plan to put the area to commercial/recreational use.
  14. That letter is on the front page of the brochure I was given at the preview party a couple weeks ago. The Model for the building was an actual ice sculpture. Wish I had my camera then!
  15. I dont think so, they are more addressing the need for more people trained, but that takes a little bit of time. The studio has been started on. I dont know if its in phases or not. Maybe someone here knows more to clarify this issue.
  16. Its hard for me to see who wants to live in that location. I cant see it being any better than Vantage. I really do hope something gets going over there, but luxury condos seems like an odd choice. Maybe it will be more mixed use.
  17. Actually the sales center will be at 711 Tchoutpitoulas Street. Its right accross the street fromthe Renaissance Hotel on the first floor. BTW, regarding the Lakefront proposals. They are still viable regardless of who runs the levees.
  18. Not many left in there. Do you not consider warehouse conversions new? There are at least 8 of those going on right now!
  19. There are several building currently being renovetd for condos. But new highrise construction doesnt happen overnight. I have a unit in Tracage, but it wont open till 2009. But the best thing to do is get out there and look. What you might like in your units could differe from others. There certainly are things out there.
  20. That depends on what building you are looking at. But i would suggest getting in a building with a tax abatement. This means you dont have to pay property taxes. ALso theWarehouse District is probably the best bet. Id suggest trying the Lofts on the corner of Julia and Tchoupitoulas. its a great building going from aparments to condo.
  21. That building isnt going anywhere. The building will be fine when its redone.
  22. Its a Landmark in the city. Once they spruce it up a bit and put different windows I think the building will look great.
  23. One of my friends is in the final four for that deal. Im not sure if they will win the bid.
