  1. Talk about a bunch of comments below THAT article! People fail to realize you can't just go build an extensive network of railways all at once... They wonder why it is so short, but fail to think "oh, you can actually add on to those things?" Idiots... As for the name, they all suck, but the best of those three is "Tide." Even then, I don't like it...
  2. So someone a while back made a comment about how goofy the AH tower would look with a spire next to the Westin, so I borrowed one vdogg's of photos (hope its allright with you!) and edited it to remove the spire from AH, even w/o the Westin one being on... I think they should remove it from the AH Tower, what do yall think? Let's start a petition or something! haha
  3. Is that where KMart is/used to be and the auto shop used to be? It faces the Khols at Pembroke Mall? If that is the case then yes, that sign has been there for years now and it is a shopping center...
  4. This has to be the most clean and organized construction site I have ever seen...
  5. Forget Whole Foods... Bring in a Wegmans! If you don't know what it is, I can only descibe it as the grocery super store... They have tons of specialy items, a cafe to DIE for, and everything you could ever need to buy, including imported things from all over...
  6. All of this news is great! If you can remember, with the original pitch there never was a "Phase IV" plan, or even talk of it... Not only that, but Phase III was not supposed to start for another couple of years if I am not mistaken... Now, the fact that Phase 3 is almost done, Phase 4 is set to begin, and it includes properties which had been listed as "Future Development" (Pilot Building, where the PAC and Studio 56 are, the parking lot of Columbus One), is very good and exciting news... Once City Walk gets going (HOPEFULLY SOON!!) the area will be VERY urban and will likely jump across the Blvd, eliminating the gas station hopefully at both ends of the mall and some of the parking lots around there!!
  7. So block 9 is happening now again? Do we know if it will be a midrise block or will it be low like the other two small blocks?
  8. Very good and long article... Now let's just hope the city goes for the Hyatt proposal... It would be the best hotel chain we will ever get for a long time, so why not take them why they are offering?!
  9. Now we can only hope that within two years you won't be able to see CityView from that vantage point, and that instead, you will have to go up another tower to do so
  10. Yeah, that is probably the case. I was on the VBTC website earlier and it hasn't changed in regards to tower two. Any idea when the completion of the deal will come?
  11. I am sorry but unless they know something that I don't, they will not last in our market. I have visited the store in Tysons up here in Fairfax on numerous occasions just to be in awe... There is a portable phone (yes, one phone) for almost $300... The sound systems... Yeah, one of them has a single speaker going for $20,000. So unless they have changed what they are selling for our region, I seriously wonder how long it will last...
  12. I was wondering the same thing actually...
  13. What is being built to the right of the 'ugly' wall on dry land?
  14. So some points/questions: 1) Where is the Pilot going? 2) So "Two Columbs Center" is the small-ish building of up to 5 stories being built on the plot with the bank, hotel, and One Columbus, correct? 3) There will be a large office tower on the parking lot behind Cosmopolitan Apartments, right? This is the one which has been planned for some time now? 4) Where did this other NEW office tower come from? Has anyone heard anything about it before?
  15. Exactly, the person WAS from SUFFOLK...
  16. I agree for the most part... I wonder how the building would look if the garages was wrapped in a blue glass...
  17. So nine floors of parking for five floors of small office space? Kind of crazy... Not to mention ugly... It looks like a building from the 60's...
  18. How many square feet is Kohls? Isn't a normal Target roughly the same size? I may be wrong because I haven't seen Kohls in such a long time, but there are several 25K square foot spaces, one of which may be Target. We can keep our hopes up for this one!
  19. Exactly... Think about it, it is not just track, it is train cars, building sotrage and repair shops for the cars, maintenance buildings and infrastructure, building the stops themselves, and not to mention parking garages... Three years is pretty good... I imagine they are also planning for the future in terms of how much space they will need once the rail goes across the entire region. Planning ahead for things like that is much easier done now than after the fact...
  20. I must agree... I do like the design, just not here, and not as a hotel. It looks like an office building! Not to mention, this is supposed to be the hotel for the CONVENTION CENTER so who the heck do they think they are, proposing a CONVENTION hotel blcoks from the center when they could build right next door..... As for where this building would fit in, Town Center would be a nice fit... Across Indy from the Westin...
  21. I agree with you... I think a mix would be the best thing. In fact, if Sun Rise does anything, it should be limited to the golf course and allow someone else to develope the loop site.
  22. In the article it says "behind TowneBank on Constitution Drive. The front entrance would face Planet Music and Barnes & Noble in the shopping center across the street." The fact that it says BEHIND the bank and not next to One Columbus Center or the Cosmo. Apts. tells me that it is on the small parking lot, meaning the large tower is still to come.
  23. This would be awesome to have the entire municipal center moved into Down Town ( )! Not to mention costly. Well, who knows, but there was mention in another thread about the "College of VB" being on the outside of the AH Tower. Anyone know anything about that?
  24. On the AH building, the office portion above the parking deck, there is a sign that is circular... It looks like Target but wrong colors. What is it, and when did it get there?
