  1. they should do very well, i would think. they are hitting two distinct markets. Gordon Biersch is for people who like the six or so beers they offer, that's it. Yard House will cater to people who want to try something new, who like unique beers, and will have a different type of food. I can't wait to go when they open!
  2. i think that highly unlikely... to make the road an underpass, you have to have the same approach distance. you would first have to build some sort of temporary road to reroute the traffic. you would have to dig down, build concrete walls, put in some extremely effective drainage system, etc.
  3. Read what it says. It says installation of one particular thing.
  4. it is a good, outside of the box idea, but a complete waste of time. I (oddly enough) agree with most of the people posting replies about: 1) Security... I have no doubt that it could hold up to a hurricane, as waves are less severe that far out, however security and keeping it from being tampered with is a problem. 2) Why would the CITY buy the tower? If the radar is moved, it should be federal property, not city. The city owning it would mean they would have to be liable for any damage and maintenance. 3) Move the thing to Damn Neck or Fort Story or the Eastern Shore or Sandbridge or North Carolina.
  5. that's what i was asking you before and you said no... where is the proof though?
  6. You are talking about Jillians but mention Dave & Busters.... 1) I am not sure but are they owned by the same company? 2) I COULD see a Dave & Busters coming to VB. You sure they aren't moving Jillians to Chesapeake and D&B is considering coming to VB?
  7. keep in mind that the Hampton project started as one big development before the economy tanked, where as VB is building in phases
  8. most of that doesn't warrant a reply. Hampton is on the opposite side of the water, which means it's a totally different market. As for restaurants in TC, I don't know how Red Star Tavern is still open but all of the others are constantly busy, even on week nights...
  9. If they were trying to attract locals, which is what I would assume, then they never should have considered opening it up at the beach. Instead, they should open one up at Town Center in front of Bravo's and Ruth's Chris.
  10. so are they going to take the place next to Pet Smart/Pier One at S. Plaza and Va Beach Blvd? Is that the location they are talking about?
  11. never heard of that chain. is anyone familiar with it?
  12. Sounds great, but where is your source?
  13. there isn't enough color to distinguish between sections, you can't see the split in the forum segments like before, its difficult to see what things are actually new...
