  1. Does anyone know a site that has maps or pictures of how the trails in the packing district will connect to other, established trails?
  2. I don't see how they could. Heading east on South St is how lots of people get to the arena and to I-4. Now that we have to make a left to head south onto Orange and then east on Anderson to get to I-4 east we're going to need those left turn lanes.
  3. Great idea. The only potential complaint I see is the loss of street parking.

    55 West

    They don't do background checks?
  5. I've read differently, although not from a certified legal authority, that Universal could make new rides so long as they fit the theme of the characters. I don't know if they have the rights to Guardians of the Galaxy, but if they wanted to make a Fantastic Four ride, is there something in the contract from stopping them?
  6. Anyone know if the I-4 overhaul includes a bridge over I-4 to link Universal & the outlets? I noticed they cleared a lot of land out of that area.
  7. That's silly. Ghosts don't have money to pay for tours.
  8. Anyone know if the pedestrian overpass will be at just Orange & Colonial or will it also be at Magnolia & Colonial for cyclists heading north?
  9. We all know it's under construction and I would love to hear what you guys know. I'm also curious about what you think about how a bigger (possibly) better Fashion Square will impact retail & living downtown.
  10. It sounds like we're neighbors. I start at the same corner and Take South eastbound to Summerlin & then head south to Michigan. I have to be careful crossing the 408 off ramp.
  11. We can't hang with Vegas & Chicago when it comes to large conventions. I've been to the convention center in all 3 cities and the infrastructure around I-Drive makes large conventions a pain to get to. We need some form of rail in the I-Drive area to facilitate movement.
  12. It's such a dire need. Imagine the employers downtown having a light rail to 50,000 young employees. Downtown Phoenix & ASU are connected by light rail. So should UCF and downtown Orlando.
  13. Thanks. I think we definitely need more people downtown, and hopefully this will mean more diversified retail.
  14. Does anyone have any info, pictures, renderings, of the building going up next to 801 Orange?

    SunRail

I agree with you. I'll play devil's advocate and say it would be easier to bring a bike downtown on the train VS the bus, and SunRail would have Wi-Fi. Totally agree. I live on South St and would pretty much refuse to drive to the airport when I can walk a block & catch the 11 or the 51.
  16. I live downtown & enjoy cycling as many places as possible. I've used the Urban Trail that runs just north of downtown a few times. I believe there was some talk of extending it all the way down to South St VIA Gertrude's Walk. Anyone know anything about that?
  17. They have closed off the city parking lot across from city hall. I can't wait to see this project get started.
  18. I think once the events center opens there will be retail that follows in 55W and Church St Station. There will be too much foot traffic not to have something open.

    Amway Center

My mom spoke of a report she saw on the news which said the underpass would be turned into something similar to the Freemont Street Experience in downtown vegas.

    The Plaza

I've noticed lettering on the south building. Anyone know about this Solar Blue outfit?

    Amway Center

Darn, and I so wanted to be a real city.
  22. The Target Center in downtown Minneapolis has an NBA City restaurant. Minneapolis is a great city, but not a tourist attraction area. I could see a D&B going into downtown Orlando. You would have visibility from the highway, and incredible foot traffic.
  23. I think being that close to the events center a sports themed restaurant would be best. I like the idea of D&B though. Anything that would be a good place for appetizers and to play a few games of skeeball or the like.
