  1. I believe that on that board at that time was a member of the Harris company... it may even have been Peter Pappas. Anyone remember this accurately?
  2. Channel 9 needs to send Debbi out to fix the tower cam... I have never been to that site when it would work
  3. A commercial property management firm has a proposed building for this site advertised: http://www.costar.com/costarconnect/Master...p;LogRedirect=1 It is showing as 400,000 feet but not much else, info wise.
  4. If you look at the delivery dates for most of the tall buildings, 2009 plus is when they complete. We have trademark, avenue, the park short term delivering. Only some wood frame projects completing after that. The Garrison in '08 then one year until any others complete even if they make the proposed timelines. That is a big if since most have not started.
  5. Opening the back to face the park would be great. Also decking the roof for cafe/restaurant space would be a huge hit.
  6. I would add the little sugar creek greenway to that list. It eventually will become the main run/bike/walk corridor and passes within the inner loop attaching to the linear park in 1st Ward. The south line could also do this once again if they get it back to the pedestrian friendly state that it was for the trolley.
  7. Ahhhh, the point of Mollypop... also at the top of my list. There are about a dozen Grade A, not ostentatious homes on the lake, outside that it is money and taste opposing each other...
  8. I think you can plug most of that dialogue in the First Ward/Levine thread and it would work exactly.
  9. That is usually the way I get the best response... It has worked several times when India and the so called supervisor said nothing could be done. Good luck.
  10. Great map work, love the orientation details. I also have biked that length to the point of impassability at the tracks between 11th and wherever.. and behind M Street. How will the path cross/or carry you over/under 277?
  11. Appears to be HVAC equipment for the roof of epicentre.
  12. The original home is in the center of the present structure. About 10 years ago the house was doubled in size, stunning detail and appointments with a 1000 square foot kitchen....
  13. "When a client is at Queens and Queens how are you ever going to give directions to them without causing a puzzling look on their face?" My office is near there, it happens a lot, we say drive another block and call again when the road names aren't the same... Also for strangers saying follow the route 4 signs and ignore the street names... As for Tyvola,Fairview,Sardis,Rama & Idlewild, "just keep driving despite the name changes until you get to 77 or Independence." For all those quails and sharons just ask "what in the world are you doing out there?"
  14. That is one of the problems, I can't see that happening and I believe it could end up costing the entire center which is a remarkable opportunity. Some of the special interests such as Carter need to lay off and not knock us out of this. The uses that I understand will be of far greater utility near uptown and would be negligable out at Eastland, Conferences, meetings and additional activities that could help gain attention for the center to add support for it... That is one of the many reasons I opposed having Nancy as our rep. in First Ward, that and we have a lot more interests in common with the other "in the Loop" wards than the neighborhoods whos' issues she champions. We need spell check, or I do.
  15. Well they haven't done it in an accomodating manner that seems to support what momentum is there. Specifically the reluctance to relocate the facilities, Bus storage at davidson included pushed the $100 mil Krock center to other locations. A very short sited and mistaken stand in my opinion.
  16. from the FOFW email update regarding renaissance site: "Just a reminder that our May Friends of Fourth Ward Member meeting will be held on Tuesday evening at 7pm at the First United Methodist Church at Tryon and 8th Streets. Enter the Fellowship Hall meeting venue from 8th Street (look for the stairwell). Our guest speakers will be Charles Campbell from First Colony Capital and David Furman from Boulevard Centro. First Colony purchased the land where the former Renaissance Place Apartments resided. Since purchasing the site, Charles has demoed the old apartments and sought partners to build some new life into the site. Charles/First Colony have partnered with Uptown architect David Furman to brainstorm on the possibilities for the new site. Charles and David plan to discuss high level ideas for the site and seek our input on integrating the new project into Fourth Ward. This will be more of a roundtable discussion and dialogue as nothing has been solidified and site plans are still in the works. But this will be a great opportunity to partner with these firms to ensure we all do what is right for Uptown and Fourth Ward"
  17. I bet the Celadon developers aren't going to be very happy to read that their representation is redirecting the prospects to other competitors sites...
  18. I don't think that will happen. It would undermine their lottery racket by actually letting buyers compare and make the most cost effective choice. Those plans depend on a false urgency that you are about to miss your only chance. Obviously works well at the beginning but peters out when you get to the unchosen remnants... then you pick up the buyers that have to see it to chose it.
  19. I biked by yesterday and there is a 15' hole at the stonewall & brevard(I think, outgoing) corner. Down to rock.
  20. Relocating the freight yard also frees up 40+ acres just outside of uptown near Optimist Park and NODA.
  21. you mean between college & tryon. Church to tryon is the observer block.

Well it sounds like the elephant in the middle of the room is Financing. If one partner is out due to divorce... New ownership taking over with the guessed number of 50% sold An already spent ad budget that surely has cost at least half of the deposit amounts Who is going to be the financier? I think you will find your answer when that is known.
  23. Unless they obtained the day care center site, it would not fit on the triangular sliver on the S. side of Ind. Wells property with curbs across the street seems more likely... long land lease or build to suite is right in line with the usual MO for FMW
