  2. Pawtucket Times: "Agreement paves way for new CVS" http://www.pawtuckettimes.com/site/news.cf...24491&rfi=6
  3. update needed: Vista Della Torre 330 feet - "proposed"
  4. I'm not sure. My understanding of the article is that the restoration of the station is the most costly and that becuase it is located on a curve, the less likely. The straight stretch just north of the station seems to be the one the consultants are saying is the most ideal.
  5. if you haven't already - send PP/B a letter asking them for better pedestrian access??
  6. Airport service will consist of direct buses to the PP/B Terminal on North Main with connecting service to points on the Cape, Boston, etc.
  7. I heard a rumor that Peter Pan/Bonanza bus will announce returning service to/from PVD on Monday...
  8. what project is the steel framing going up over by the bus tunnel area, north of the rubix cube building/memorial park??
  9. someone should call GTech. Or maybe Thom can get us a list of building heights - the city must have an "official" listing someplace...
  10. Killadelphia, the city of brotherly shove. disclaimer: I borrowed this line from a close friend who is from the PHL area and in no way is meant to disgrace the city in general - I just thought it was kinda funny...
  11. I would have thought that both GTech and the Temple would have cracked the bottom of the chart (145 ft).
  12. PBN: "Downtown Pawtucket is named to National Register of Historic Places" http://www.pbn.com/stories/25491.html
  13. first bids for actual construction are going out: http://www.pvdairport.com/ktml2/files/uplo...nt/02%20STL.pdf the work will be site prep and alteration of areas of the airport's short term lot for the support pedestals that will support the enclosed moving sidewalk connector between the airport and the new intermodal facility. apparently I missed the first one, for the precast concrete that will make up the actual structure of the intermodal facility & parking garages - that one came out a few weeks ago...

  15. the P-CF commuter stop wouldn't be geared on the longer range commuter, i.e. the person who drives from other areas to get to this station. With each new train station that opens, we have to asume that RIPTA will tweak routes and schedules to get people on the trains. There won't be a big need to have a ton of parking here, but there will need to be some. The commuter going to Boston will be able to take the train from Wickford, Warwick, Providence, and South Attleboro and since all of those are right off the highway (pretty much) the P-CF stop would be fine the way it is - a more 'local' stop.
  16. should the list be updated for E@B in the 200-225 foot range???
  17. similar type article from the Warwick Beacon: http://warwickonline.com/warwickonline/ind...0&Itemid=30 the project is on schedule - just not many people knew the actual construction wasn't to start until this spring/summer...
  18. Oh man, I can't remember the name, but I stopped in a good coffee place around the corner and a block or two from Barnsider's - anyone know the place?? couches and chairs, right on South Main Street. Pastiche (spelling) is always good too!
  19. the Gold line starts running from the JD at 0545 - you could get to Providence Station just after 0600 and catch the 0607 MBTA train and be in Boston South Station at 0719. The Trolley runs every 20 minutes and there are trains from PVD at 0633 (0745), 0712 (0816), 0740 (0849), and 0810 (0923) depending on when she needs to be up there...
  20. there is a 'third track' that runs between Quonset and the Boston switch up in Pawtucket that P&W has rights to use. P&W can always negotiate track usage rights on lines not owned as well. the link is thier map: http://www.pwrr.com/PWmap2.html
  21. not really. the area has already been cleared and prepped for construction to start up. The schedule is still the same, I'm being conservative with what little I know about the time-line of the project
  22. quick update: A specific project manager (person, not a firm) is to be selected soon. Finalization of documents and then bids for construction to the street this spring - construction by fall (maybe??????)
