  1. I passed by this sculpture quite a few times before I realized it was there:
  2. thanks...i got really lucky with the lighting that day and the reflection in the comerica building. i was thinking about photoshopping out the the van and car though, as they slightly take away.
  3. Okay GRDad, you talked me into it. I've got a few photos lying around that I could post each day. Here's one of a familiar location:
  4. I just received word from McFadden's that they are opening on or around November 10. Also, XO Asian Cuisine is scheduled to open November 1.
  5. I think the Black Rose might have it. I'm almost sure I've ordered it there before.
  6. Rafav's is located at 1441 Wealthy SE, one block west of Yesterdog, at the corner of Ethel and Wealthy.
  7. I think it's going to be called Silver Cactus. They had a booth at Eastown Street Fair a couple weekends ago. Not sure on the date either. They were giving away a flyer that just said Fall 2005.
  8. Beaner's Coffee is opening a third location on Ivanrest SW in Grandville on October 10.
  9. Yesterday at Eastown Street Fair, a place called Silver Cactus Mexican Grill had a booth to promote their fall opening of their new restaurant at the corner of Lake Dr SE and Carlton in Eastown.
  10. I'll have to check it out...I'm assuming they'll have wireless?
  11. I think the second floor opened last week, at least according to a couple friends of mine who are regulars there. They have couches, pool tables, Golden Tee, etc.
  12. Well, it's not really a restaurant, but Starbucks is scheduled to open at 187 Monroe (in the Amway Grand Plaza) on September 27.
  13. A possibility might be they have different ownership, but the same name. Kobe Austin is different than this one in California. To my knowledge, the one in Grandville doesn't have a website.
  14. it looks like McFadden's is in some pretty major cities, Boston, Philadelphia, NYC. I'm kind of surprised they would move into a smaller market like GR. Maybe they're franchising across the country. PF Changs would great, but how does Boise, Idaho get one before us?
  15. We have a lot of posts and topics regarding building projects around the area, especially downtown, but how about restaurants that will be, or could be opening soon? (If this thread exists, please point me toward it). One, for example, is the Seattle-based Red Robin on Rivertown Parkway. There are couple in the Detroit area, and now we finally get our own. I heard the burgers are excellent, but haven't had one myself. We also have XO Asian Cuisine coming to Monroe Center Ave and The Omelette Shop opening in Breton Village Mall. Joey's Only from Canada is coming to 60th & Kalamazoo and On the Border and Noodles are both adding locations to 28th St. Any word on what will be moving into the former Gibson's?
