  1. Bail reform was more of a prosecutor/judge problem. Not the law itself.
  2. The Rangers stadium was a billion. It opened 3 years ago. Which means pricing was locked in in 2017-2018 for most of it.
  3. I don't think this fall into that category. This looks like plain old taking from people that have and giving it to people that don't have. Even though you can have bad credit and have money and the vice vera is true. Most racial justice stuff is just general redistribution of wealth that they try to justify bad ideas.
  4. I always thought Jeff would sound like Scott Joesph. I don't know why but the was the voice in my head.
  5. Except nationalism ends up as pretext to convert to socialism. It is a tale as old as time. It starts off benign, "love of country", "we should take care of our own", "the elites are hoarding everything", "foreigners are taking your jobs". The next thing you know we all are wearing brown shirts wondering what the heck happened.
  6. I hate nationalism as well. It leads to authoritarianism way too often.

If so, I don't see why not they could not eventually get to BL taking it over. It is also was federally funded and may have restrictions. In theory, all of this can be worked out if the state and local officials can make a deal. And I really mean Orange County and Orlando. I do not see them getting on board unless something drastic happens.

Brightline owns their own tracks, no? Sunrail's is owned by our government but don't they connect to CSX's? They are not interested because the price will go up and limit working class people from riding it. And they want to control it regardless that FEC could run it better.
  9. You can't out low Trump. It is almost impossible. And DeSantis does not seem quick on his feet like Trump is. Add that Trump is attacking DeSantis on legitimate policy issues that are are his (DeSantis) weak spots. I know DeSantis wants to be president but Trump ends careers of politicians that are republicans. The problem with DeSantis is his career will be over if he loses to Trump. What is next for him, Senator? He will have to primary Scott or Rubio.
  10. Until he is on stage with Trump. And then DeSantis will look like little Marco all over again.
  11. Sort of true but it is mainly because China is trying to decouple. Unless you think we should bend the knee to the CCP to keep them buy our current. Fact of the matter is the US dollar is still strong despite authoritarian countries doing their best to take us out. They will always lose and capitalism always wins.
  12. Onix is the developer so private. Advent would lease per the article.
  13. But getting something like that so fundamentally wrong causes outrage amongst people that think it is an old building. We all know it was built fairly recently, but the average reader does not. FYI Lincoln residential and commercial has split apart. I don't know what that means for this deal, (probably nothing) but may have to do with the delay.
  14. They can waive the requirement. Retail and hotel I believe still have no minimum parking requirement in the core.
  15. This new district still allows RCID to build garages. Which means tax exempt bonds.
  16. So its not the team you desire, but rather an owner that is investing in the surrounding communities. Have they paid for their permits? If so, it is party time.
  17. You are getting old my friend. And I did the same thing but did it sooner. I hope downtown recovers. The amount of time, money, etc. spent trying to make it better while it has become so dead during the day and evening hours. But the primary culprit has been the lack of activity and foot traffic M-F during the day. The weekends are not bad but during the week feels like a ghost town. Crime does not help either.
  18. If I cannot get a direct flight, it ruins the whole trip. International is expected but okay. Anywhere on the east coast, it better be direct.
  19. I only do commercial and pool fences are governed by the health department, not the local jurisdiction. Also, fences are not required if other parameters are met.
  20. I don't think that writer understands what building codes are. They mention it and never give an example. I honestly don't think any jurisdiction can supersede state law when it comes to FBC.
  21. Wood (trees) are natural. Concrete and steel are not. Trees can be planted. There are other factors at play but that is the simplest way to describe it. It is why CLT is such a big deal for green building.
  22. Well, it is more sustainable than concrete or steel if it makes you feel better.
