  1. Most people don't make lifestyle decisions based on ideology. It may seem like a lot of people do because they are insufferably loud about it. Most normies just live their lives and have no idea what woke even means. Secondly, you picked out two movies that are remakes sequels that the public has been rejecting lately. Also, I think the Little Mermaid had an asian problem, not an American one.
  2. Is this within ARB? It might be outside of the boundaries. The local neighborhood may be the ones to push for better design.
  3. Now I need to watch these movies again. Guy Pierce is so great.
  4. I have not and it sounds interesting. David was his name in Prometheus. The good robot was in Alien Covenant. AI will be a reflection of those that program them. To use your Alien reference, David and the robot from the original Alien were homicidal. But the robot from Convenant and Aliens were heroes. Maybe the breakdown between bad, average and good will match the human breakdown. Some will be geniuses, most average, some will be terrible.
  5. It is that or shrink the country. Besides, a broken clock is right twice a day (Biden). And yes, I welcome Skynet with open arms. More automation and more AI. We have been technological stagnant and need AI to help propel us into the future. Thank you for coming to my TED talk.
  6. That is the Great Recession but I said the pre covid numbers. All of the other things you mentioned does not support "no one wants to work" People are working if it is gig or "influencing". The simple fact is we have more job openings than workers available.
  7. No, and it shocks me that people still say no one one to work. We have an extremely low unemployment rate and workforce participation rates that are similar to pre covid numbers. We simply lost too many people to covid and other lockdown related deaths and had many early retirements. Throw in that immigration has been on the downwards slope, and you get the environment we are in today. We need to automate faster or let more people into the country.
  8. Last I heard, material prices are going down but labor is still going up canceling each other out. We expect it to be flat for the rest of the year. However, concrete is going up for who knows why. But development is slowing down nation wide because of overall costs have been unsustainable so we may see a slight reduction.
  9. Did you have the song in your head all weekend?
  10. It is more of a democratic/Scandinavian social democracy. Definitely not socialist or classical liberal like we (pretend) to be.
  11. I really do not think it is. I just like"Blame Canada" every now and then. But they should be held liable to any and all health outcomes related to this. It does remind me of the California fire from a few years back where Trump in is own way described the fire as a lack of maintenance from the state of California. He was right and I would not be surprised if this is the same reason. Just the one millionth reminder of why we should not give government more power when they cannot do the basics.
  12. I made a small edit to your comment.
  13. Our properties are three times as much for insurance 2019. My homeowners has doubled but I know it is going to double again this year. People that move here get a rude awakening that it is not as cheap as you would imagine.
  14. We have many cults already. The DNC and the RNC are two of the biggest.
  15. They sound like lovely people.
  16. What is the ROI to move all the way across the country? Its not like they were moving the corporate headquarters out of California. They would still have to pay whatever corporate taxes to the state. I doubt moving to Florida would have helped recruit new employees. I do not se the angle. Stay in California and suffer under the leviathan. With great weather of course.
  17. Going off of memory, the original proposals did not include a new stadium.
  18. I have never had a bad meal at Bosphorus. Either in Lake Nona or Winter Park.
  19. Back to Lake Nona. I had dinner at Bacan, I was not that impressed. Beautiful sculpture garden. But I expected to the food to be better.
  20. Corporations are people though. How could anyone disagree? Anyway, Disney could slowly transition people to Florida over the next 20 years through attrition. As previously mentioned, some people have already moved. And I am sure they are not interested in selling their house here in a 7% interest rate environment and buying one in California.
  21. The problem with Rufo is he has a history of misdirection. And if you listen to him debate someone that he disagrees with (which he does not do anymore), his arguments fall flat. Regardless, I know I will not change your mind and you will not change mine. I am a small government conservative and there are like 10 of us left lol. I am used to being on the losing side.
  22. The bill in draft form literally did not allow teachers to discuss gay. So the naming was accurate. However, it was modified in committee and the full vote on the floor reflected on the change from don't say gay to don't teach gay. Most people are fine with gay and lesbian people. But there is a strong evangelical opposition that were completely shocked by Obergerfel and still want to see the movement get pushed back. Thats why it went from going after the T's to shifting to everyone else. I personally don't think it is fair to LGB people since they have nothing in common with the T's but here we are. I am very familiar with the Manhattan institute and have followed their president Reihan Salam since his days at NR. I also think some of their writers are straight trash especially Christopher Rufo. Transexuals and Drag Queens are not one and the same.
  23. It has become more unaffordable which is driving people to parts of the state that usually is more rural. Places like Osceola county are for more expensive compared to 5 years ago. Lake county as well. But as long as it cheaper than Jersey, people will keep coming.
