    Koury started out as Kirkman & Koury in the 1960s and built a number of residential neighborhoods across the city including Woodmere Park and the Kings Forest neighborhoods in northeast Greensboro. You can always tell which neighborhoods the company built because the houses all have the same late 60s early 70s designs.

    Koury Corporation is one of the most successful development companies in Greensboro and has never done anything downtown. Joe Koury was a man of the "suburbs". Just think where downtown would be today if they had invested as much in downtown Greensboro as they have in other parts of the city. After Joe Koury died the company lost its vision for the city and today mainly builds small industrial sites and owns a lot of commercial properties. They haven't been involved with grand projects for the city since Joe Koury died. Roy Carroll is the Joe Koury of today's generation. The difference is he has invested heavily in downtown as well as in other areas of the city.

    Some video stills from the TLC reality show My Big Fat Fabulous Life which features Greensboro native Whitney Way Thore. Downtown is getting some serious airtime on TLC. The show really knows how to capture the beautiful elements of Greensboro which typically shows downtown scenes when the show returns from commercial break They got a nice shot of High Point University.

    North Carolina had come close to landing another aerospace company with 2,000 jobs. Ohio beat out NC for a large facility with company scouting five sites in NC with three of them in the Triad (one at PTI and even Smith Reynolds was considered.) The company will manufacture electric air taxis. Would have been unbelievable if PTI landed this on top of everything else that's coming.     Construction on the final leg of the downtown greenway will begin in a few months now that funding is in place. It will be complete this time next year.     At the corner of Bellemeade and Eugene right across the street from 400 Bellemeade (Project Slugger). No word on the ballpark development but they are late on the announcement. Plans were supposed to have been announced last spring.

    Technically 9-stories. Its 8 floors of hotel rooms and there is a ninth story on top which I assume is the bar. But structurally it appears to be 10-stories tall. The 20 stories was the planned office tower which is no longer in the project. The Aloft at the time was planned to be 6-stories. So the AC will be about 3 floors taller. However down from 12-stories of the AC when first proposed like you said. Structurally its 10 stories.

    Groundbreaking has begun Well the development has a new name Carroll at Parkside (3rd name change) and the groundbreaking has officially begun. The 8-story AC Hotel will have a rooftop bar and pool and in addition to the luxury apartments, 20,000 square feet will be set aside for "boutique retail" and "high end" dining options. https://www.carrollatparkside.com/
