  1. Isn't it more like 4, 7, and 11 o'clock?
  2. Sweet, I can't wait. Atlrvr, keep the good information coming man!
  3. I am more scared of KC than ATL, just b/c of politics. If there were no politics involved, CLT would get this one hands down. ATL has corporate support, but so do we. ATL has a few NASCAR players, CLT has more. ATL has some NASCAR history, CLT has much more. I know ATL has not released any true renderings yet of their proposal, but it would be pretty tough to beat CLT's. The only reason CLT would lose this bid would be because of the France's politics in KC. I think if we lose the bid, we should just build a NASCAR museum here anyway and see how many more people will come here than the one in KC. But I truly believe we will win, so hopefully that will not be a problem.
  4. I find MLB highly unlikely in the Triad, though I could possibly see MLS in the Triad. But don't expect anyone in Charlotte to travel up for it. I have found that when a major league team is located in a smaller city, people in larger cities rarely will go to the smaller city to see that team. For example, I only knew 1 guy who had season tickets to the Hurricanes in Raleigh, even then they were only part-season tickets. And this guy was Finnish, and they love they're hockey. I think he was purely satisfied with the Checkers. Just like in Charlotte we soccer lovers are purely satisfied with Eagles soccer. You might catch me at one MLS game in the triad every decade or so.
  5. Dude ATL has nothing over us. We have major corporations and major NASCAR players as well.
  6. I think it would be cool if they turned it into a type of riverwalk thing closer towards town and more of a natural thing further out.
  7. Here are some more renderings you guys may not have seen:
  8. Indeed, that is quite nice, I can't wait and I pray we get this thing!
  9. Yeah, I think it looks better now too.
  10. Indeed, so with this strong financial package, does that basically put Atlanta out of the race, because that was ATL's only real asset.
  11. They are presenting today, when will NASCAR make its final decision?
  12. I think if they do not award this to us, then they are on a massive amount of acid.
  13. In Atlanta they have some large condo projects like this, I know Navare has done some very large ones there.
  14. When are the proposals due?
  15. Ok I'm going to do some math here. $52M time 10 is $520M. $520M divided by $280k = approximately 1857 condos!!!! That would be massive!!!
  16. Details please o please, lol. No seriously, we didn't hear it from you, but approx in what range would the # of residential units (be they condos or apartments) be? We won't tell!!! I can't wait, 2nd Ward needs this.
  17. Yay, I can't wait for it to open, sounds fun!
  18. Well, I don't really consider Steele Creek near the airport, though I'm sure it does get some noise from it.
  19. Yes indeed, the properties out there by the airport aren't the nicest anyway, and I don't think adding another runway would affect them in any way.
  20. I am pretty upbeat about this deal, any change is good for this airline.
  21. Yes, I heard the merger was imminent, this is really a good move by the company, hopefully it can return to its old glory days.
  22. Eh, I still think we will most likely get it.
