This is the kind of rediculous venom that poisons reasonable conversation. You realize of course that people are flocking from "high tax" states to NC an TN in droves right? theyre probably all just dumb fat people right? Why be a hater - especially on a forum like this? Youre statement about taxes being lower now than since the 30s just silly - what data are you looking at? whether fed income tax or total tax burden, thats just not true. Why spread untruths to justify your disdain of millions of people ? WTF? These posts dont do arguments justice so I apologize if Im overreacting but it sounds like your injecting your bitter politics into a development forum. Ill make the offer again, I'll buy you lunch if you want to have a more productive (and interesting) conversation

Hey, I apologize if I came off harshly. I would distinguish european colonialism from Christianity - though I understand not everyone does. (I was trying to imagine how loving someone too much or turning the other cheek too quickly wiped out ancient african civilizations). The world changing subversion of normal power structures (the first shall be last, last shall be first etc.) had a huge positive impact on humanity, though that doesnt discount all the horrible things greedy people have done using religion (in general) as "cover". This isnt the place for this, if you're at all interested let me buy you lunch sometime and we can talk about all kinds of cool stuff Amen brother

sorry I know this isnt the right place for this, but bigotry has to be called out - what ancient African civilizations do you think were "wiped away on purpose" by "Christianity"?

one underappreciated blow to future growth of the midatlantic region in general and Richmond in particular was Dominion's cancelling of the pipeline project over the mountians. There will be lots of manufacturing "reshoring" in the coming years but that requires cheap energy. We were set to benefit greatly, but wont happen now as the cheap energy goes NW and NE intead of E and SE. Not to say we cant have niche industry, but the big stuff cant happen here because of the lack of cheap energy at the kind of scale the pipeline would have brought. oh well...

I think its a nice addition to the ecosystem down there - another reason for people to head that way, an active lifestyle draw. Ive always tried to support the restaraunts down there and love accessing the pipeline down there behind the flood wall - but its always been very underutilized. Maybe some of the folks going down for pickleball will have lunch at Casa del Barco after...

no sweat - theres more people than that at a typical friday cheers and parking isnt a problem (though you may have to walk a few blocks)

maybe I missed something - didnt we just hear they delayed buying the sportsbackers stadium so they could cover the increased costs of the stadium? Sounds like they're building the stadium - is there some indication they're not?

sorry to see them go, but honestly as a guy that lives just a few miles west of there and eats out a lot I thought about checking it out but never did. I cant stand the QR code ordering and why would you go to a food court and pay restaurant prices instead of going to an actual restaurant? If you lived in one of those apartments (which a growing number of people do) and it was cheaper than going to a real restaurant (which evidently it wasnt) I could see it working - but why would you drive down there for that? Im glad to see people trying different things and seeing what works but I wouldnt read much into this not working out...
