  13. Looks like we haven't gained or lost any counties in this round of Metro delineations, which is good. Our neighbors to the Southeast that can't seem to catch a break have lost Franklin City, Southampton county, and have gained Surry county, and the Metro population has went actually down from 1,806,840 ---> 1,787,188. Jesus, New Orleans has actually dropped below 1 Million since they lost St Tammy Parish. I want to note that these counties are mainly added to Metros based on commuting patterns. 14. Elevator/Stairwell is already rising for the James Buzzard river education center.
  15. HCA Health moving Chesterfield emergency room (richmond.com) HCA Health plans to relocate its Swift Creek emergency room to a nearby location in western Chesterfield County. At a cost of $19 million, the health system plans to build a larger facility at 18201 Hull Street Road. Last week, HCA submitted a Certificate of Public Need request to the state health department to move CT imaging equipment from the existing facility to the new one. Health systems do not need state approval to open standalone ERs, but they need approval to install CT scanners and MRIs. The Swift Creek facility, which opened in 2016 at 14720 Hancock Village St., is roughly 10 miles east of the new location, which is being called Magnolia ER. HCA owns three freestanding emergency rooms and plans to build a fourth at Iron Bridge Road in Chesterfield for $16 million. It is expected to open in 2025. HCA’s other locations are in Hanover and Prince George counties. For context it's literally a skip away from the Metro Zoo, and I will say that area is really taking off in terms of development.

  17. Wegman's facility looks to be already finished and ready for occupancy from a recent drive to Peaks, Va. Chippenham Corridor continues to blossom in terms of development, especially with the former Spring rock green parcel undergoing from looks to be utility connections. Shoulder lanes on Midlothian Turnpike or Pike have been closed around the site. Midlothian and Western Chesterfield continues its vigorous development at unforeseen speeds, between the new houses near Cosby village, the old Stranges site on Arch rd, or Westchester commons area. Chesterfield Courthouse area or known as "Deep Chesterfield" continues development at a rapid pace also. In that area the awaited Courthouse village site is being cleared, and the Breeden project near Route 1 continues site clearing. There's so many in Chesterfield that I would be forever in terms of naming all of them.
