  1. Super excited to see how much development this will drive for the area. And hoping Scout can deliver a genuinely good product.
  2. Every time people visit from our Dallas office they always comment on the trees and greenery.
  3. Has the duke building had their lights on yet? I feel like I haven’t seen them on.
  4. The Thread Development Phase II rendering Looks like they are adding an additional floor and surprised they were able to get a pool on the roof. Unfortunately, no "fun fair" a la Ponce City Market.
  5. Glad to see I am significantly under paid.
  6. I took a tour when I was looking at apartments about when it opened. I had previously lived at “The Francis” in the high rise portion. Honestly I wasn’t that impressed. The price was maybe a 100 dollars less than what I was paying for my previous place. I really didn’t like the fact they split the amenities based on if you were leasing in the high or low rise. For example the low rise residents had access to the dog park. But people living in the high rise portion were not allowed to access it. And vice versa with like pools and gyms. Views were cool but I felt like it was a downgrade from the last place and I wasn’t saving really any money.
  7. Really excited that this is actually starting and think adding some residential is actually better than the original plan.
  8. Personally rising rent has pushed me to buying a home even with this increase in interest rates.
  9. Maybe he can build a balloon based practice facility. That way when he eventually changes his mind on location he can just float it away.
  10. Seriously. Last time I was there flies were all over the donuts. I now go to the Cotswold store for my Krispy Kreme fix. You would think they would try a little harder.
  11. That’s exciting to hear but knowing Columbia I wouldn’t get my hopes up. Do you know who actually owns the fairgrounds?
  12. The company I work for have their general manager meetings at the Ballantyne 3 times a year. The GM’s always comment on how nice it is and have been excited to see the park complete.
  13. Dang that hurts…. I wonder who’s going to take all that space…
  14. Really wish something like this would happen today. It’s kind of depressing seeing all these apartments going up but no way to actually own anything. This would likely be out of my price range but I am sure many people could afford one.
  15. Here are a few of the projects going on in the downtown Rock Hill area. 1 - 3: The Exchange 229 Apartments along with 26,000 sqft of adaptive reuse retail/commercial. 4 - 5: Demolition of the Rock Hill Herald building. This will be part of an apartment project that is being done by white point partners. 6 - 8: This is part of university center project which already includes the lowenstein building, 1939 building with approximately 225,000 sqft of office space, Rock Hill Sports and Event Center and the 110 room Cambria hotel. Number 6 will be the spot of a 4 story parking garage with around 19,000 sqft of retail space along with a bus depot. Number 7 is of a new 4 story apartment complex. I believe it is around 150 units. Number 8 is the of the new student housing project called “The Nest” which is around 300 beds. At least one more market rate apartment and Student housing project are planned along with adaptive reuse of the old Rock Hill Pipe and Foundry power plant including an park/lawn space. 9 - 10: Looks like work has started on “The Thread” which will bring around 400,000 sqft of space, 50,000 of which is slated for retail. Many smaller projects are also in the works for example Hoppin has announced they will open a third location in the cotton warehouse off of Dave Lyle Blvd. And “The Perch” which includes the adaptive reuse of the Rock Hill Coca Cola bottling plant.
  16. When I lived there the amount of confusion with hotel guests trying to park and get to the hotel was unreal. I’m talking people riding up and down the apartment resident only elevators trying to get to there hotel room and me trying to explain that they need to go down to the lobby and walk down the street. Utter confusion on their faces. This happen multiple times….
  17. Oh wow so the “Loso” towers are actually happening?
  18. Beautiful vistas at the Ballantyne!
  19. Of those 57 how many do you believe will actually be built? Half?
  20. Excited that this is coming along. I really hope the nearby redevelopment of the spring’s mill “The Thread” finds some anchor tenants soon. And would love to see more action downtown in the future.
  21. Oh wow. Pretty sure I saw you taking these last night. Awesome as always.
