  1. Mind providing a link to the OxBlue construction cam for this site?
  2. Taken from the Dawson, I presume.
  3. Just checked out their website. Only three properties under their belt. Doesn’t give me much hope. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Pivot half a step to the right and you'd see one of my cars parked on Peace Street. I live in the townhomes behind the KK sign.
  5. This is just tower 4. Two towers on one base which essentially makes it one tower. This just takes up the tower 4 footprint. Not the tower 5 footprint.
  6. Cool! I'm the one who shared this with them from Kane's site!
  7. Here are the latest renderings of Park Central (Plaza) and the AC Hotel:
  8. They are going to finish the Ten before they first my Peace Townes (further up person, across from Krispy Kreme). We've been delayed since June of 2014 with progress trickling and excuse after excuse mounting.
  9. http://www.dudapaine.com/north-hills-tower-ii.html New renderings of tower II.
  10. This mystery development very well could be the Wake Tech expansion.
  11. BidClerk has a project listed for Raleigh (Private sector) as Hotel/ Motel Office Parking Garage Retail Playgrounds/ Parks/ Athletic Fields Swimming Pools. The project is valued at $200,000,000. Anyone have any ideas of what this could be? I'm thinking of hotel prospects and I can't imagine the Residence Inn adjacent to the convention center will command that kind of price tag, plus it is already with parking deck. Perhaps this will be the site across from the L? Two hundred million still sounds rather pricey for 9 stories, unless it has been scaled up. If I recall correctly the total cost of the 16 story Marriott was $115 million, the PNC was $100 million, and Skyhouse is $60 million. More detail. There is 18K sq ft. of commercial space, 32k sq ft. of ground floor retail, 576k sq ft.or office space and a parking garage. So, I do not think this is Carolina Row.
  12. It's a shame they didn't just stack their 12 on top of their 19 for a 31 story tower. I wonder if there were any height restrictions which prevented them from going taller. If I remember correctly the city wanted to step down in height east and west, midpoint being Fayetteville Street. The same maybe true for North and South. Albeit, my theory has holes given Glenwood south and the Hilsborough corriders future towers. I believe the developers are missing out on a real oppurtunity. Put up Raleigh's tallest and cater to the need of hotel space. Add a 200 room 3 1/2 - 4 star hotel in their pushing the height to 40-42. But, then again I don't know their vision. S Shame, lovely design(s) though, but a shame still.
  13. Although the height is down 1 story I believe the height is the same if not taller. It is over the twice the elevation of the 12 story compliment. But those stories are taller since it is an office building. This will make a tremendous impact on the sky line. The presence of tower 1 should be great as it will visually be the 3rd tallest within the south cluster of DT(after RBC and excluding Wachovia tower). I'd say it should reach up to the 20-24th floor of BB&T including the two antenna. All of this is speculative. What is not surprising to me though, is that our rendering, the only guideline we have had in the past 2 years, could use some adjustments. Namely the Marriott. From the angle taken, the Marriott virtually blocks a portion of the bB&T building. But in actuality it does not block the BB&T nearly as much as is rendered.
  14. As expected this project was unanimously approved. I am surprised that Crowder did not disapprove for reasons of no anchor tenant. link
  15. Yesterday, I had to go price a custom subwoofer enclosure for my car. After that I had a few hours to play with before I took my MCP exam. I decided to venture DT. And stumbled upon a jewel. I had to run through my knowledge of history when I pulled in front of a all yellow two story house on West Hargett that said Joel Lane's House. I quickly realized that Joel Lane was the owner of the 1000 acres that was purchased to become Raleigh. So one can assume that the house is old. But...then I thought...wow...this was the only house in the county at the time. There was no county. In fact, there was nothing for miles of this plantation house. So Raleigh came about in 1792 from a purchase of a land that occured in this house. The house is older than 200 years. It is said to have been built around 1760-75. I and the girlfriend toured the house. The parlor is is believed to have been the birthplace of 1000 issued deeds in the county. The bedroom in the public space on the 1st floor was believed to be a tavern which Gov. Tyron. and is wife Meridith Wake where rumored to board. Yes, that is Wake as in Wake County. Thank god for her. Our county was very close to being named after a current Boylan Condo project, Bloomsbury. So the house faces South on Hargett which also faces the Bloomsbury project. The house originally was closer to Boylan. About 300 feet from it's current location. And it faced DT. But that was many many many, you get the idea, many years ago. The condition of the house is incredible. This is my first visit to a 200 + year old house with this kind of importance and history. The average height for a man 2 centuries ago was about 5'6 (I think that was considered tall, exception, Abraham Lincoln). Given that the first floor's ceiling is 14 feet tall. Upstairs it is more like 6'8. Which was actually raised to that height. Yes, when you are barely 5'6 you don't need but a few more inches of head clearance. I guess this gave his children the impression that he was tall( humor). I am 6'6 so I would of just been a freak to his 12 children. I viewed their upstairs bedroom. Which was no larger than your average bedroom. I'd say about 14 X 16. Most of the furniture was from the period andmanufactured in NC. But, it was not the original furniture. But, Joel Lanes desk still remained. The structural integrity of everything including the desk is the likes that I have never seen. No extensive interior restoration has been done and the home literally looks worthy of residence. From the homes original egg shaped door knob and lock to the L-shaped hinges with the original leather washers, this slave built home deserves attention. Besides, your tour guide goes all out by dressing in garbs from that time. He is a real knowledgeable curator. Admission was $1 for students and $4 for adults. Well worth the time!!!!
  16. I live right next to these. They are surrounded by Morrisville. I am unsure why they call it Cary. This is quite misleading. The area is located to the East of Harris Teeter on Davis. To the South of Keystone Park, to the North of Morriville Carpenter Rd. and to the West of where I live. All encompassing a 5-6 sq mi area. All those areas I named were Morrisville. Am I missing something. BTW, I just came back from trying to drive by and view some of the homes. Unfortunately, you have to go on the tour to see them.
