  1. https://techcrunch.com/2023/07/27/cruise-is-bringing-its-self-driving-cars-to-nashville/ Curious how this will go with our...challenging infrastructure and drivers.
  2. It was actually a lot of people. I don't think it was super specific about what was going to be built, more like "of traffic calming options, what sort of things would you like, and where?" The main thing I remember from it was that everyone hated the idea of speedbumps/humps.
  3. I actually went to a public comment session on this. In...2019. It was held at Fat Bottom. I actually think this was technically a "bikeways" project providing traffic calming for "bike boulevard" routes which is why a bunch of dumb sharrows and then Georgia ave. bikelane were done at the same time. Also, if we're posting our work prioritization pet peeves: why is metro repaving alleyways in the Nations? Seems like those should be at the bottom of any list as long as trash trucks are still able to navigate them at like 5mph.
  4. I think it'll be ok, I've seen Charter construction 18-wheelers navigate the Kentucky one without touching it.
  5. They went through on Monday and added signs in the middle of the circles.
  6. It does look pretty bad. I'm kinda mystified they didn't try to place the parking garage on the interstate side as barrier.
  7. Good to see. That side of the street is kind of surprisingly underdeveloped between 440 and 42nd
  8. Metro Council: Parking maximums in the urban core! Also Metro Council: statutory "free" parking at this project for...some reason
  9. I believe it was to be a SFH on Acklen Park Dr. in Sylvan Park
  10. I stayed at Citizen M in Manhattan last summer. The room was indeed quite small but it did have a king taking up the whole room width up against the window. I think they're trying to provide a boutique-y experience at a slightly lower cost in expensive markets.
  11. No, I think the only location (aside from the food hall downtown) is in South Nashville. If I remember correctly, the building the original was in on Ewing was damaged in a fire.
  12. I think this is still basically true about how projects are evaluated https://wpln.org/post/how-nashville-decides-where-to-put-sidewalks/ And you can see active projects here https://cfms.nashville.gov/Sidewalks/Home/InteractiveMap And I think near-term planned projects are listed in this (long) Walknbike doc https://www.nashville.gov/sites/default/files/2022-10/NDOT_WalknBikePlan2022_2022.08.26.pdf?ct=1666110014
  13. Agreed. Plus, they're going to need to special-order pedestrian walk signals to display a three-digit crossing time (and be visible from 90 ft away) Wow, can honestly say that this has never occurred to me to think about.
  14. Looks like erosion fencing is up and a demo permit is issued for the property at 600 51st Ave N (corner of 51st and Delaware). Appears to be a 5-townhome project.
  15. The bigger projects are getting them but it seems like some of the tall skinnys are paying the fee instead, plus a huge chunk of the "new" houses were built before the requirement. There's a good long stretch complete on Centennial now though!
  16. Yeah I can't imagine any large-scale eminent domain happening for highways (or anything else) today. It would be a huge fight. I'm also curious. I'm not a regular 24 commuter but I've never seen anything displayed on the new signs and was never clear on what they were supposed to do anyway.
  17. I think that's correct. Looks to be about .6 miles without a crossing between Division and Edgehill and then another .5 miles to Wedgewood.
  18. The structure at 600 46th Ave. N in the Nations is being demolished. I believe it was a former window tinting business and probably a gas station before that. No idea what is being planned for the property but it was sold last year to "COUGAR NASHVILLE REAL PROPERTY, LLC" for $3,350,000.
  19. The top floor at least was already an Airbnb, some friends stayed there last year.
  20. it's a weird area with a mix of suburban-style street layout and lots of barriers (the river, briley, I-40)
  21. I kind of appreciate there being an ok amount of usable outdoor space for units instead of Romeo and Juliet balconies or whatever but the name is terrible!
  22. At 310 W Trinity? "CONSTRUCT A 950 SF BUILDING FOR DUTCH BROTHERS COFFEE."
  23. Looks like this new taproom at 4916 Charlotte is pretty close to opening. Mentioned here but I guess I missed it at the time. https://www.nashvillescene.com/food_drink/bites/two-new-restaurant-projects-announced-for-charlotte-avenue/article_64cb80d8-3458-11ed-9798-035f5b093eab.html
