I wonder if Bird is even able to collect and store them all. They outsource the daily collection and charging to people that sign up for it and get paid on a per-scooter basis. I wouldn't be surprised if Bird's Nashville employee presence is just one or two people taking delivery of new scooters and getting them out on the street.

There's a three-house project going up on my street that's not doing sidewalks because they got their permit in the day before the sidewalk regs went into effect, I wonder how many similar permits were rushed through (they didn't start construction for another 6 months).

I agree with the sentiment about the sidewalk requirements but I don't think those streets are really great examples. They're both only a few blocks long and dead-end at the interstate. Way down the list of streets where sidewalks are needed.

I live over that way and walk my dogs on that stretch a lot. For whatever reason (maybe a lot of roommate situations?), that section feels like it has a ton of cars all over the place. The Nations really missed out on the timing of the sidewalk mandate for new construction. Wish it had been in place 5 years ago.
