  1. Rooftop Park on top of the deck , please. Nice little lunch spot with outdoor seating. Views of South End would be amazing. I'm a realist, and I know the lost parking revenue would be huge, but one can dream.
  2. Do you think the convention hotel is dependent upon Duke's move out of 401 S. College, which is likely dependent upon the completion of Metro Tower? Or is there another location that works for the hotel that could get built sooner?
  3. I don't like the new name either, but if those were the other options considered, they picked the best of a bad batch. At least with Truist, they can make fun of Wells Fargo and refer to them as Falsist Financial.
  4. The more I look at this picture, the more I think this building screams for the building floors to be cantilevered out from the parking floors. If the front of the building was curved (or even just V angled slightly), the parking levels pushed back about 10 feet, and office floors pushed out about 5 feet, it would create really cool look. I wish I could draw what's in my mind, but I think it would be so much cooler.
  5. I think the choice of brick actually makes the parking deck look better, and somehow the additional 800 spaces aren't the problem I thought they would be. Maybe the real thing won't look so much like windows on those lower floors, but the drawing makes the parking deck appear smaller, and not so out of place. Wondering if Honeywell ever needed to expand in the future, could they build on top of the monster parking deck?
  6. https://www.charlotteobserver.com/news/business/article230656429.html#storylink=mainstage_lead - Lowe’s considers Charlotte for new 2,000-employee tech hub This would significantly change the Tech Job numbers in Charlotte.
  7. The talk of location made me go look at the map, and LU @ Stonewall and Tryon is the last available space uptown on S. Tryon, without major demolition. The only, non high-rise I see is 217 S. Tryon, which backs up to BB&T's parking deck. I don't think it will be the tallest, but I do think they will want it to front Tryon . So I would lean N. Tryon, over LU.
  8. I view this as a good thing. Tepper has stated many times he wants a presence in both states. As long as the Practice facility and HQ are in SC, then the stadium (current and future) and all of it's future events will remain in NC.
  9. The Church Street side is completed, and it says Bank of America Tower.
  10. just drove by on my way home and notice they're putting screening on the outside of the parking deck. Could this mean there's more artwork coming to 277?
  11. Panthers eyeing SC site along I-77 for expansion, Rock Hill mayor says Just me, or does the referenced plot of land seem way too small?
  12. Your math is a tad off. The average PSL may have been $3,000 in 1995, but some were a lot more than that. Additionally, not all PSL owners bough in 1995, so you can't really divide by 32 years. The team is still actively selling them and the minimum price is now $3,000. There is alsoa very active secondary market. So there are fans who as recently as last season paid several thousand dollars per PSL. But the biggest issue with the math is it assumes the PSL fee is all that was paid. The Purchase of the PSL obligates the owner to pay whatever price the team decides to charge for tickets, regardless of the teams performance for all 10 home games (yes, we have to pay full price for the 2 preseason games as well). We paid for all 10 games during the 1 and 15 season in 2001, and the 2 and 14 season in 2010. All the while, the price of those tickets going up 10 to 20% per year. Prices have risen over 400% in the 22 years the team has played in Charlotte. The Panthers like to brag about the sellout streak, but without the contractual captives of the PSL owners, it would never have happened. Abandoning them to build a new stadium would be a mistake for any new ownership group.
