  1. It's pretty good - better than I remembered. Not up to the standard of a Heist NE IPA, but if you see at a reasonable price definitely worth a shot.
  2. Oddly there was a rant in the Charlotte Agenda a while back where a bar owner was complaining that breweries were undercutting their pricing (which really doesn't seem to be happening)
  3. It is that good - mostly in the "turbid IPA" realm, which gives you a ton of hop juicyness and flavor without much bitterness. If you don't like, or haven't had, that style, then you may not be a fan of Heist. Almost all of those top-rated BA beers are just variants of the same theme with different hoppings. A lot of these beers get traded to other areas, boosting the number of people who will have them & review online. With a lot of Wooden Robot's better stuff being brewery-only, it seems like they aren't getting as many ratings there.
  4. They aren't part of InBev, they use them as a distributor. As the guy is saying, they are a publicly traded (on the pink sheets) company; InBev or someone there could buy stock in them, like anyone could, but why would they.
  5. This is probably a hot take in this thread...but maybe the streetcars are not a good idea. Tell me how this is better than a bus, aside from being cute.
  6. What would the zoning overlay district entail?
  7. This location always seemed a bit hidden to me.
  8. I believe someone had a trademark on Yellow Blaze already?
  9. I don't even know if the rent tripling since the 90s is even that bad - I'd say it seems fair given the population in the area. Would love to see Sabor open up in that space and immediately kill it like they did in the parking limited location in Elizabeth where Phat went to zero.
  10. I would agree with this - the shelves have been pretty empty recently. They do often have some generous limits on some releases when they come out (like a Fonta Flora where you could get several bottles, they had a bunch more than anywhere else) - but it seems like the stock is much lower recently, and much of that stock is the extremely expensive Shelton Bros national/international stuff (Prairie, etc.)
  11. Ass Clown has a decent dry hopped sour that's available at a few stores - I think Good Bottle should have it, there's a few differently hopped versions. Definitely can recommend the D9 sours others mentioned here.
  12. It is amazing pizza, and you'll have your food within 5 minutes. Seriously a great operation.
  13. This sounds like it'll be a really good addition to the neighborhood. Any updates on the Fidelli place? Semi-related - everyone should check out Rai Lay if you like authentic Thai - nice place, and they bring some serious flavor with an eclectic menu. I love the spice and level 4 basil chicken is plenty hot for me, always nice to have one level left to kick it up to.
  14. Thought this place was absolutely terrible when we went shortly after opening, but the Yelp reviews seem more promising lately. May have to give it another try, but there also could be some Yelp-gaming involved. Doesn't seem to have much of a crowd whenever I go by.
  15. I would be surprised if this doesn't sell out quickly - people will probably be going nuts in the trade market over this.
  16. I'd pay $15 for a crowler of that cherry sour - it definitely doesn't take the place of actual can distribution (so for Birdsong), but it's nice to have the option.
  17. The Publix decks are all underground though, so the space isn't really wasted? They could get rid of the little side parking lot, but doesn't seem too usable.
  18. I saw the screening today and was wondering what everyone here was so up in arms about, thinking that was the "mural"...but now I see the mural side, and...wow.
  19. Some might say that's what the Charlotte Agenda is going for 95% of the time...
