  1. What was City Center II supposed to look like? Any pics of the original plan?
  2. Preserving these historic areas in our city ensures that even though the city develops and grows, it still remains truly Nashville. Also, public opinion often gets in the way of refurbishment/development/progress. Are you suggesting the 'public' opinion would have been to keep the area an overgrown dodgy homeless encampment? You're against preserving history... yet also against progress.... ?? Most of the trees weren't supposed to be there in the first place. The place was unkempt and became overgrown, and this neglected area became a sketchy place to visit. Kudos to the Parks Dept for cleaning up this 'hidden' historical gem in the heart of our city.
  3. It seems to have a sort of Las Vegas / Cabo vibe to me. I don't think that's necessarily bad in the SoBro area. That area has the potential to become very sterile and glassy with all these new modern box-hotels. Margaritaville seems like it will be a fun place to stay, especially in the summer! I'd rather stay there and enjoy it, than at a cheaply-built Westin or Hampton Inn.
  4. Jeez the Renaissance is so ugly... I cant wait until it's somewhat hidden by the 5th and Broad towers.
  5. I actually like this hotel. I'm glad it is moving forward quickly.
  6. I'm glad Megan Barry recognizes the importance of this project moving ahead as planned. Good for her! Next, she should wrote an open letter to Metro Council and tell them to stop being snowflake crybabies.
  7. This is exactly the sort of nonsense that prevents developments from being finalized. Politicians and organizations (MDHA) need to get out of the way and stop halting progress...
  8. The Church Street Park is practically unusable by residents. I attempted to give this park another try and walk my dog there, but was shouted at, slurred at, and eventually approached by someone, all while watching a man bathe in the fountain. Yes, some people just come to this park to hang out, but the shouting, screaming, and rowdiness still seems excessive at any time of day. Why does the city refuse to take action? It is not insensitive or crass to say that something needs to be done about this problem, here and in other areas around the city.
