  1. https://www.viadesignarchitects.com/lesner-inn.html 6 story tower rendering for shore drive.
  2. This looks cool! www.egdinternational.com/?lightbox=imagee2a
  3. Donato's pizza will have a location in hilltop.
  4. Looks like stihl is going to build a 3 story expansion building and looks awesome.
  5. I just saw on esg's website that groundbreaking for the arena is set for this summer. My source was only speculating that we might have an NBA team.
  6. Virginia Beach has probably more tourism than Kansas City
  7. Seattle is not ahead of us. Louisville would be competing with major college basketball teams within their state. Pittsburgh does not want the NBA. Vegas might be the only city ahead of us. The facility has yet-to-be-built so it could probably be built to be NBA ready at its completion.

  9. I don't know if I can say who that team might be. I do not know for sure if we are getting a team here.
  10. Light Rail has very low ridership in norfolk. The monorail system would require a multi-modal station however it would not be much more of a cost than if there were a station with only one use and it would be worth it because people would use it because it is much more cost-effective then a light rail system AKA Streetcar. It would also pay off in the long run because monorail transportation is just as efficient as Light Rail transportation and has a lower operating cost and would require much less maintenance. It also requires less energy than light rail. Unlike light rail monorail could be operational during power outages because monorail has the ability to run on compressed air and solar power.
  11. I'm only 31 years old and even i'm saying no to light rail but yes to the arena and they should consider monorail instead which is not just an amusement ride anymore. Look up the number of cities that have successful monorail systems.
  12. This arena is far from being canceled imo. With every business deal comes negotiation. This is what can happen in the negotiating process. this vote does not mean that the deal can not and will not get done.
  13. Problems like this can arise all the time with any development deal. There is a middle with every deal.
  14. If the developers want to take on more debt then I say go for it. Especially since they said they have one major investor and other investors and these investors at least some of them according to the developer have visited Virginia Beach.
  15. More arena news. http://pilotonline.com/news/closed-session-meeting-planned-to-discuss-complications-with-virginia-beach/article_17c68efe-a4f9-58c7-983d-05725f00a25a.html
  16. It looks like there's a big development being planned 4 Williamsburg! http://www.guernseytingle.com/hospitality/index.htm
  17. I saw the plans from 2010, but nothing really showed any urban development in that area. The improvements looked good and much needed though. The lot on the corner on Norfolk's side screams for a little more space, and tower. Maybe a mixed use office/residential/retail if they could get rid of that one office building next to it. Or if they get really lucky multi towers with a hotel/conference center deal. If I am correct the lot you are referring to is going to eventually have a two story Chartway Federal Credit Union. The new 2 story development will be at the intersection of Newtown and Princess Anne on the Norfolk side. There is a sign with a rendering and it looks pretty nice. It looks like the tower next to where Chartway will be, has a new name.
