  1. Welp the Bed Bath Beyond by the plaza next to the Florida Mall is closing
  2. a lot of apartment complexes are labeling themselves as millennia area and then people find out too late that its not thats an interesting location for this to go in. Also on the west of that parcel, all of those buildings got demolished the past month or so but i have no idea what will go in place
  3. Just a simple pic from creative village
  4. gotcha.. thanks guys. It would be cool to at least save the newsroom into whatever will be built in the future. as for the brownfield i hope thats cleaned up in the near future... we dont want more delays in advancing downtown
  5. pardon my ignorance. Does The Sentinel moving out of that building mean theyre just downscaling or closing/shutting down forever? also i remember one urban planning teacher saying that the ground below that parcel is possibly contaminated because of the ink residues?
  6. let me tag @cityoforlando and @UCF so they can read this over and over and implement it by the year 2087
  7. what killed JCPenney was their lack of budget clothing. They used to sell $5 Graphic t-shirts in masses around 2008-2011 and all the kids in middle/high school wore them because you could tell a specific shirt came from there. I came back around late 2015 to buy some things after not shopping there for a long time and everything was more than $15. I only got 2 jackets that were on discount and i have never shopped there since. whay bother when Ross, Burlington, DD's Discounts, Calvin Klein Outlets & American Eagles Outlets have better name brands for lower prices? bit ironic
  8. music collector here... yes people do. There thousands of Instagram pages (including me) dedicated to Cd/Vinyl collections. A lot of the young people that collect are in the millenial/Gen Z border aka born in the late 90s-early 2000s. Pop artists like Britney Spears and Rihanna have released most or all of their albums on vinyl. Many others from all genres and ages have had re-issues, especually now that many albums the last few months have been hitting 20th and 30th anniversaries . The latest fad now is for artist to release their newest single on 7" format usually as a online pre-order before the song comes out. Some artists take it up a notch and make Vinyl boxsets that include booklets, pictures, and a CD copy. Of course these are tactics to drive up sales but if youre a fan of the singer, these items are really great collectors item, and even better when you like vinyl Vinyl records are on track to outsell compact discs for the first time in 33 years and prices have risen 490% https://www.cnbc.com/2019/09/14/vinyl-records-on-track-to-outsell-cds-and-prices-have-risen-490percent.html Vinyl Is Bigger Than We Thought. 10. they were right next to the Apple store @ the Florida Mall guys ....
  11. They have an Ad on facebook and people are rippping them a new one over these ridiculous prices
  12. Wyndhman lay me off on the 31st.. (took longer than I thought ) tried to apply for unemployment yesterday and finished at 5am My bf applied two weeks ago and still has not been given an amount fo how much he would get for unemployment my dad works for Stanley Black &Decker and at the beginning of the month they said everyone would get payed if they had to close service centers. Now the Atlanta branch closed cz one guy has the virus and now they say they would have to use vacation hours and would not get pay if they are closed. and I still have schoolwork to turn in.. like my motivation dropped -100
  13. not sure if posted before but the Publix on Orange Blossom Trail by Sky Lake closed forever a few days ago
  14. Macy’s will start furloughing most employees NEW YORK (AP) — Macy’s says it will temporarily stop paying tens of thousands of employees who were thrown out of work when the chain closed its stores in response to collapsing sales during the pandemic. The majority of its 125,000 employees, including stock people and sales clerks, will still collect health benefits, but the company said that it is transitioning to an “absolute minimum workforce” needed to maintain basic operations. Macy’s has lost the bulk of its sales due to the temporarily closing of all 500 of its stores starting March 18. https://apnews.com/ae97f5556ea48ae167636fb50eeb4489
  15. yeah im not sure where that "standing on the beach kills the virus" WhatsApp fakery came from Wyndham lake buena vista just laid off roughly over 100 people... many of them managers and employees who been there 6+ years. the same with many jobs.. firing people out of nowhere The fact republicans and libertarian politicians are suddenly clamoring for UBIs is telling me something. .. we're not bouncing back anytime soon
  16. im DP class of 2014 and I feel old looking at Gen Z Gay Village incoming
  17. Just a quick shot at the UCF Downtown garage
  18. As a 23 y.o. I could care less about the Sneaker world but its a HUGE part of the youth culture, specifically for the African American and Hispanic Millenial and Gen Z groups (4 combined demographics that Orlando has a big # of... believe me I went to public school with them), its ignorant to ignore a gigantic sale/re-sale industry
  19. oh no offense take at all, I agree with you, im very hopeful that by the middle of this decade the whole area gets cleaned out. The crossroad of OBT and Sand Lake got repaved, new fast food and stores are opening.. lets see Im in NextDoor and there was a whole conversation about the motels and how they decrease the quality of the area. People want those cleared out
