  1. I agree that Maimi PAC is fugly. Btw, Hines did build Disney Concert Hall. Check out some of Hines project http://www.hines.com Wortham Theater Houston
  2. NJ PAC cost about 200 mil. and Petronas is only 1.2 Billion.
  3. For $376 Mil, they can build an architecture icon. Disney Concert Hall is only 274 Mil, Miami Concert Hall $344 to $377 Mil (more seats than Orlando). If we are going to build it, lets build something that people can recognize Orlando by. Philly Kimmel Center was considered a failure because the city are not happy that it is not an architecture icon with the huge price tag they paid, despite it great acoustic quality. It they are going to spend that kind of money and build a PAC that look like something u can find in Daytona Beach or Maitland, it is rather disappointing, dont you think so?
  4. Look like the same arrangement as PTP. Here is a report from OPAC in pdf format. In my opinion, this report looked like they do it in 30 mins or less. Give some efforts. The report used NJ PAC as example, which means we are not getting an architecture icon but just some lousy looking building like those you would see at UCF. http://www.orlandosentinel.com/media/acrob...08/25007317.pdf
  5. Somehow I thought the 6 cent tax supposed to give 450 mil

  7. In some preview news, it did state that it will be in the 30 stories range.
  8. By the way, is that a fix location of the 30+ stories new Marriot?
  9. If it is going to the front empty lot in front of universal studio, I would not object.
  10. If it is going to I-Drive, why would City of Orlando chip-in money since it is outside the city limit. Anyway, this is not the arena thread. Might as well put it in Pine Hills.
  11. I am more inclined to think that the new arena will be on Church and Hughey, hence the 600K for 1/4 acre purchase near Cityview occured. It will be cool if they can change the centroplex like Georgetown DC kind of neighbourhood. But it takes too long to do it, we have to wait for the new arena to be built, then tear the old one down, then rebuilt.
  12. My opinion is that if they are going to build new road, plan on using the money they will get from the new road and not the existing road. If they are going to use the money that people pay for the existing road to build new road, then charge us again when we use the new road, that's double charge. And somewhere in between the process, certain people get extremely rich.

Hey, it looks like Metrowest Veranda Park with the train.

I am just thinking people on the second level will have trouble getting off the train when the whole thing was packed. They need a 2 levels station.

Hopefully it is a double decker rail like Tri-Rail. So, is the light rail going to run on the same track too? About the station, I am sure local leaders know that they have to increase density in the area around the station, the problem is finding someone to invest and buy them.

There was a Hooters downtown. But, really, their wings along with the wing house are just ok.
  22. Miami was talking about burying I395 ,385 or some # close to it.
  23. The support beam for the 408-I4 interchange is so tall almost 1/4 of Suntrust height. It is sad to see that our highway get higher and higher, while other cities such as Boston, St Louis, Atlanta, Miami are trying to bury their highway undergound and keep it out of sight.
