Wow, this is really surprising. We already have 2 high-speed indoor karting places in that area, one of which is right next to the location they are targeting...I-Drive Nascar, which also uses the latest generation Sodikarts. It looks almost identical to Andretti Speed Lab in Atlanta where I used to go. I think the owners being bar owners are just going to stick to the classics. Traditional diner food in a funky space. The 24-hour diner will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner with a menu of comfort food classics such as omelets, biscuits and gravy, and pancakes for breakfast to meatloaf, chicken pot pie and shepherd’s pie for dinner.

Thank goodness this project was approved!! Looks like logic prevailed instead of backdoor deals and lobbyists. I am quite sure Buddy is secretly happy this went through even though the city voted against it to please Universal. I-drive is going to be a tourism force over the next decade. I also love that a new height precedent has been set.

Okay, this is not the area I thought you guys were talking about. The location I have thought would be a great spot for a museum is across Robinson from Lake Eola's northern side...the glass buildings here. Not that they'd be willing to move.

Where is it marked that is an AT&T building? I always thought it was just a collection of various companies in those offices. Google maps doesn't list AT&T there.

They can start by putting a sidewalk along the north side of the park...that's crucial. A splash pad/fountain would be nice on the eastern part of the property. There is no splash pad downtown.

This location has really been my dream location for a downtown art museum for the longest time. Imagine that rising up across from the lake, with a raised outdoor cafe and terrace.

Actually there was thought put into that name. They chose Lions because that was the name of the first minor league soccer team in Orlando.

The lion doesn't blow flames btw...it's just a rotating statue that was going to face outward before the game, then turn to face the field when the game starts.

The first pic is the old design, the second pic is the new design with the Church St side completely filled and the bar/jumbo tron moved to the corner. It is the same angle and there is no longer any open space. It's going to be officially unveiled at 10:30 today with more renderings. Only this corner is not filled...you can see the opposite corner goes all the way to the top and my guess is the same for the other two. At the very least the two corners next to the supporters will be full stands top to bottom, except no roof.

Someone is going to be killed on either Robinson along Lake Eola or Mills north of Colonial if they remain the way they are. I had a close call myself on Robinson. Parked in Eola Heights and waited and waited, and right when I stepped down onto the road someone whipped around a corner and was bearing down on me. It's insane to have a road like that with no intersections or crosswalks leading to the busiest park in the city. The park has become too popular and many people park in Eola Heights. Mills is a similar situation where many restaurants and bars have people parking along the street, crossing the street, drinking, etc. Recipe for disaster, especially in Orlando.

The name "420 East" is pretty weak. We already have 530 East Central and 55 West. However, I don't like the word "Artisan" either since it is such an overused buzzword like "Craft". Oh well.

They have been demoing and clearing land across the street for the Whole Foods for a while, so I assume that is still a go. Nothing vertical yet.

Not sure if this is the lot you were thinking of, but the building slated for the empty lot just south of Panera looked a lot different. It was very modern. This is the only image I could find...

When 55 West first started renting, ZOM was handling it. They did a great job with the Paramount. I looked on ZOM's website and 55 West is not listed. Is someone else managing the property now?

Yeah...you bring up a good point. Now that I think about it, it is probably more than adding just the 3 corners when they said the fully expanded design is 27,500. At the Citrus Bowl, which has a much larger lower bowl, with the corners covered the capacity is 20,000 and adding the corners gets you to 24,000 (they are getting over 30K by opening the middle Plaza level). So that is only a 4,000 seat increase with the corners, and that is adding four corners.

Three corners added = 27,500 total capacity in the original design.
