  1. Their insta has Relax by Frankie Goes To Hollywood. It’d be funny to put that out there and it not be LA.
  2. It is annoying however that they allowed such an egregious typo though. Under cities served part talking about “Southwest offers non-stop flights from Baltimore to Greensville.”
  3. Wonder if Aer Lingus is joining the fray or if this is a one off. I see the BA flights have stayed at a pretty steady schedule of 1 or more a day since I first saw them coming to GSP.
  4. For the plane spotters out there, there is a British Airways 777er due to land at GSP in an hour and a half. Kinda jelly that I’m not able to go see all these cargo planes coming in.
  5. Looks like Hobby is back, and Denver is back, for now at least, and at one a day as opposed to the once a week it was a few months ago.
  6. Yeah I’ve seen it on flightradar24 for at least 2 days in a row.
  7. I used Hobby once as well on a hop from SeaTac to GSP. Exxxxxtremely convenient.
  8. GSP-Hobby starting 5 November on Southwest.
  9. So from the looks of it the Southwest flight to BWI is back to once daily and the United flight to Denver is back once a week, if I’m not mistaken. I read somewhere one of GSP’s responses to questions and they believe Reagan will come back but are unsure of LaGuardia. Didn’t see anything about Newark. Anyone have any insight on those flights?
  10. I want Seattle! Boston is nice, but Seattle would nicer for me.
  11. To prove your point you had to resort to the most pretentious statement you could by inferring that fans of certain genres are less educated. You don’t have to like it, but leave the high and mighty attitude at the door.
  12. I realize they are mostly one off’s, but I think it is interesting to see the cargo flights that are going places other than Germany. Not sure if the Mexico flights are still a thing, but last week I saw a cargo flight to Calgary. Today there is a flight overhead me in Savannah right now that is going from GSP to Lima, Peru. Also, looks like the CRJ Maintenance is still a thing too. Saw a flight from GSP to Montreal. Unless that was a flight just ferrying the aircraft up there for another route.
  13. The first United flights to and from Denver started. I’m interested to see the load is. If it is an indication of whether we can support more west coast destinations.
  14. The thing that caught my eye was it said “current growth challenges inside the terminal resulting from enplanements outpacing forecasts, airlines up gauging equipment, additional frequencies, and new service announcements.” Does this mean Wingspan was not effective in addressing this possibility of bigger aircraft and more destinations? Or does it mean that GSP is like the SCDOT whereas they build for now and expand when it’s gridlocked instead of building out before it gets bad to match future growth projections?
  15. Whether it’s Delta or another airline like United or Lufthansa even. I can see it work with the frequency in which they spoke of. What I can’t see, however, is the logic of avoiding GSP to save money, of which, you will spend some or a lot of driving to Atlanta or Charlotte. I will save the hassle and go ahead and pay what would eventually wind up being not much higher, after you factor in added expenses traveling to Atl or Clt to fly. Unless you live close there is not an argument in the world that would make me say that they are “close” or even the popular argument “too close for xyz flight to work.”
  16. I’ve always known GSP had the two customs stations. What I never thought of was does that just mean 2 lanes? Or two stations with multiple lanes. Because if they were to get international flights with just 2 lanes at customs then it’s going to take for ever to clear a flight coming in from Germany or elsewhere for that matter. Either way, the planes it would take to make that flight seat over 200 people. Putting it right at or over capacity in just one flight. If they were to get those flights, it would be nice to see them do it on a 787 as a nod to the state of South Carolina. Kinda like what British Airways did for their flights they are starting from Charleston to London-Heathrow.
  17. I can see a once weekly being feasible. If we were talking about once daily, I can see your point. But there is a demand there. How great the demand? Can’t answer that. There is a flight that does kind of a Munich-Atl, Atl-GSP/GSP-Atl, Atl-Munich leg. Don’t know why I know this flight DAL131. So there is at least some traffic between GSP and Munich. That flight is on a 767. It’s what Dave Edwards called in the recent interview a “less than daily flight”. Am I saying it will be a huge success, no I’m not. Just saying that there is some justification for looking at a Munich flight. Now adding Lufthansa just for that flight would be a stretch. I can see Delta adding it, seeing as how they already operate that flight, just in a different form.
  18. It appears as though the story mentioned in November is correct. The only flights out of GSP on Frontier this month have been DEN and TPA. So, then begs the question. When do these seasonal flights to LAS and MCO pick back up?
  19. Yeah. That’s what I was saying. Since it was for a specific event they probably wouldn’t. However, I believe they should consider west coast flights before they add more Florida routes or east coast i.e. Boston. Would be pretty legit if they followed Charleston’s example and land Alaska. Granted there is enough traffic between Charleston and Everett to justify a flight to Seattle, I just think either California or Pacific Northwest have great potential to work out of GSP. The 787 business helped land an international flight from Heathrow to Chucktown. Wondering also if there is enough international travel between GSP and Europe to warrant a flight to say Frankfurt am Main or Munich (Been I’m quite a few of those as well and almost the same as my flights to Seattle). Being situated between two major hubs woth connections to just about everywhere is what hurts GSP. Charleston doesn’t really have that competition. I guess they are holding their own with what they can do, but I guess the traveler in me just wants to be able to hop on a plane and hop off at my final destination without a stop in between without having to go 100-150 miles to do so.
  20. I thought about something today and wondered if maybe the airlines, even though it was just a small cross section and for a specific event, looked at the numbers to the 3 different airports they used this last week to judge the feasibility of adding flights to the Bay Area. I mean, United had a flight to San Francisco, Delta did a handful of flights to San Jose, and Southwest did Oakland. They filled up 2 767’s, a few 757’s, and a handful of 737’s. I counted a total of at least 10 flights out there and 10 back with nothing smaller than a 737. Before comments are made, just remember what I’ve said before, every flight I’ve been on to the west coast has had a good amount of people on it that I boarded with at GSP. Interesting thought to say the least.
  21. It is counted. Not sure though if it’s counted with their charter statistics, or with Delta seeing as how the university is chartering the flight instead of it being a scheduled Delta flight.
  22. I know they are offering more flights to Dallas this weekend for the Cotton Bowl. I’ve seen a few Southwest flights to and from Love Field. Wondering if that’s part of it of or just coincidental plane swaps on the same weekend.
  23. Pretty cool that they are seeking Boston, Canada and daily nonstop to Denver. I still would love to see Seattle on the list of places they are looking at. I’ve flown that route enough times to know it could be a viable option. Every flight I have been on to Seattle had a lot of people I saw from my flights to and from GSP.
  24. Not really sure what you’re basing it off of. Just went on and looked and went all the way to August next year and still had two flights a week nonstop to MCO. What I did notice on the calendar was that February, March, and April all dates were available as opposed to the 2 days a week the rest of the months.
  25. Ok, that’s what I thought. I figured what I had just wasn’t showing everything. Was thinking that’s an awful lot of investment and hype to just go away like that.
