  1. Greenville in the news https://www.nytimes.com/2024/04/18/us/greenville-real-estate-conservatives.html
  2. Any idea when affordable housing on Oscar Meadow street will start. It's been 5 yrs to the day since this article came out https://www.greenvilleonline.com/story/news/2019/04/15/sc-man-gifts-prime-property-near-greenville-unity-park-affordable-housing/3398784002/

  4. If they scrap the baseball field for a soccer field, after delaying baseball field for a year because they want to combine construction with the 'tower,' all hell will break loose.
  5. It's hard to predict how these tower projects turn out. https://www.insider.com/photos-show-the-vessel-new-york-city-hudson-yards-manhattan-2023-11
  6. This property owner is eligible, of course. It is just frustrating when developers get so much help (investment) from the city and then come back for a second bite at the apple. This plot and adjacent plot were bought up by two big names within a 3 month span back in 2012 knowing full well that the park would multiply their investment. Then, when it does, they ask for more tax breaks. Imagine a developer benefiting from infrastructural investment provided by ReWa with the Big Dig, and then suing ReWa for taking the land 300 feet below their property (this is a real scenario, and this developer did just that).
  7. https://www.postandcourier.com/greenville/news/unity-park-pickeball-developer-asks-greenville-for-tax-freeze-as-part-of-historic-rehab/article_dd9b46e2-62e2-11ee-98b7-1fa3d01da6b0.html I mean, c'mon, asking for a tax giveaway? City has invested over $60million in adjacent land, ballooning this lots' property value many times over. As recently as 7 yrs ago owner, owner leased this land for $1/yr to an urban farmer. Now, its value potential is through the roof. How much free money is enough? Developer can make these improvements on own dime and still make a killing.
  8. Sabor latin grill on S. Main has closed
  9. Meh. I see these adult arcade businesses (pinball machines, golf simulators) as just placeholders until the larger development can find a better use of the space. These ventures are typically pretty sparse on the inside and don't require much of a build out (other than food/bev side) and thus leave space easier to repurpose once they decide to leave. For example,, if Group Therapy at Camperdown wanted to pull up stakes, that space could be a blank slate pretty quick. Better than another coworking space?
  10. Yeah, saw that. Not gonna happen.
  11. Bellwether Pub starting to hire. Hints at April opening.
