  1. The Batman building looked so much better then......
  2. Thank you for the pictures. Everything is looking good. The only thing that I don't really care for is the large portion of concrete wall on the Omni. I wonder if there are any plans for that blank space, i.e. the billboard like things that are on the side of the CMHOF. Not sure if that would look right, but I would rather see something. I wonder how some three dimensional musical notes in a staggered form going up the side with back lighting would look? Just throwing out ideas
  3. Just looked up the area on Google Earth and like the proximity to WES. With that being said, I didn't realize how many undeveloped surface lots there are around the WES sight. Forgive me for not being at home in Nashville that often, but when I am, I usually focus on the WES sight when I drive by it
  4. I agree about the Pinnacle. If you look at the original renderings, the setbacks right below the crown were supposed to have floodlights. I'm not sure why they did away with it, would have looked nice. I would be happy if they just turned the rest of the lights on the Batman building and even if the TN tower doesn't have the messages in the windows, they could at least install flood lights around the perimeter of the base and have them light up the building. It would look better than a huge dark building. Cincinnati is a good example of a night skyline for a city our size. I wonder who controls the building light schemes?
  5. I would rather the BB get rid of the At&t logo and replace it with US Bank. I hate the way the BB is so much dimmer now ever since the At&t globe was put up. I don't get why the flood lights shining up the roof and along the bridge portion at the very top are no longer lit. Also when I was home it seemed that the lights that are on the BB are much dimmer than they used to be. Did they install LED lighting or something? I know this has gone off topic, but buildings in DT Nashville could use a better lighting scheme. I you watch the show Nashville and they do a night fly over shot of the skyline, it looks horrible. I even noticed that the blue lighting on top of the TPAC building were no longer lit as well.
  6. Well I received a response back from dudapain and they wanted to know what firm I represented lol. I explained who I am and talked about the forum and my fellow posters and how eager we are to see new renderings. I even invited them (Lynn E. Dunn, AIA, LEED AP BD+C Director of Business Development and Public Relations to be more specific) to join us on the forum. Who knows what will happen but maybe we can at least get a time frame for when we can expect to see new renderings.
  7. Could they possibly be an anchor for 505CST? It would be nice to see the Sony logo high above downtown?
  8. I can't wait to see what is developed in SoBro along KVB and the roundabout. There is so much potential for a nice urban neighborhood with residential, shopping, and entertainment. I hope the city gets this right.
  9. Did anyone else notice the exterior lighting of the MCC last night? It looks like they had all the lights on, including lights on the roof that I have never noticed before. You can see what I mean on the Ox-Blue cam.
  10. And also, lets not forget that Signature was a hotel as well. Seems like it could feed the need in SoBro.
  11. I couldn't agree more with you. I still don't see why Signature Tower could be considered completely dead. I know that Tony G. went through a lot with Signature Tower but I have read (wished I remember where) that it was VERY close to rising out of the ground before the economy tanked. I am sure that most will say that he has moved on with 505 CST, but that building seems more geared toward a corporate headquarter. He seemed very passionate about Signature Tower and it sounds hard to believe that he still wouldn't consider building it on a smaller scale. Since the design had already been worked out, I wonder how hard it would be to resurrect this project? Even if it wasn't built on the original site on Church Street It could fit in SoBro somewhere I am sure. Even with a shorter version it would still make a substantial impact on the skyline. Heck who knows what the future could bring. Remember, not long ago we all thought West End Summit was dead but now look.
  12. Wouldn't it be nice if this was the view from a building one day? :-)
  13. Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't that the location of the old Mrs. Winners chicken? I thought Churche's Chicken/White Castle were further down West End next to the interstate.
  14. Thanks! Hopefully some construction pics can be posted soon.
  15. Since I am not in Nashville It is easy to loose track of what is exactly going on and where. I was taking a virtual walk in SoBro via Google Earth and was wondering if there is anything planned or currently being constructed at the Rock City Machine Co. behind Encore? I wasn't sure exactly where the new hotel currently under construction was located so If this is the spot my apologies.
  16. Such a shame the market collapsed but I guess things happen for a reason. On the subject of Signature Tower, I wonder what the possibility is of it ever rising out of the ground. Perhaps shorter or in a different location of downtown. Heck after the news about WES it seems anything is possible now.
  17. Hopefully we will find out about the SoBro soon. This suspense is killing me!
  18. Did anyone catch last night's episode of "Nashville'? I loooove the way it showcases downtown and it was funny to see the At&t logo on the Batman building blurred out but yet Pinnacle was visible
  19. That is always great to hear!!! I have always had faith in Tony and feel that he is very passionate about our city. If Alex Palmer can get WES out of the ground after all these years, who knows what else could happen. Such exciting times for Nashville
