Again, when I talked to one of the project managers, they stated the building was in far worst shape than they had thought and now they expect to open around christmas of 2008 or worst case mid 2009. They have to replace steel beams, and bring the building up to code then make it effective to serve as a hotel.

Yeh Med Tea Room is good but its wasn't as good as Al-mir so I will miss it, but if I can ride out to Village at Sandhill for Red Robin and Arizonia i think i can stand heading to Irmo for some good Mediterranean food. Maybe another exotic eatery will go in where Al-mir is sometime soon

I am not sure if that is the school of dance but I do know for a fact the new band hall (to replace the buildings on main)will either be or will also be located at the same location. The building next to the band hall called UTS Annex will relocate offices into the new Horizon center (insider information), from the power plant to wheat street will be leveled, unknown what will take its place, the Sumter street parking deck UTS main and the corner power plant will remain.

I am sorry but I am still not a fan of its renovation, I wish they would added some more at the top maybe some "crown molding" i don't know it justs still looks cheap to me.

I am for this project, i mean 5 stories would add alot to the vista instead of being a sea of 2-3 story buildings. This and the project in 5 points that seem to be getting beotched at becuase of height, is heart breaking. They need to understand projects like these help the city not hurt it in anyway nor does it affect the feel of the district. As far as this building in the Vista it might not even stand out, And i praise this developer that they chose to have off site parking which helps with the urban feel of the district.

Senate, Wilshire, and the two condo building in 5 points are heavy college based. When i tired to get into Senate plaza to take a photo they told me i had to wait till students moved out, and I have firends who in both condo buildings in 5 points.

^ LOL sure BUT after I build my 15 story mix use tower on that lot next to Merdian(sorry house of fabrics you can rent space in the new tower) and my new hotel, condo tower cross the street. I am thinking Westin, any other ideas?

Speaking of the new building on top of kennys I wonder if a tower crane will go up. I mean its the same height as adesso so why not. Plus both do have a parking deck built into them.
