  1. Thanks, for the real time perspective. Just curious, why didn't most people flee to the mountains in the summer. I do remember hearing in the 50's and early 60's that Downtown Norfolk was in pretty bad shape.
  2. ODU dogged a big bullet. Hell of a game.
  3. ODU better hope VCU wins tomorrow. The CAA won't get three teams in.
  4. It's amazing the crap the Pilot puts in their paper sometimes.
  5. EVMS should have merged with ODU years ago. If it doesn't happen within the next 5-10 years, I would be shocked.
  6. ummm...A little Naval Air Station in Virginia Beach.
  7. I meant if they want their "downtown" and already losing money convention center to be truly successful, they have to link up with mass transit.
  8. Va Beach will leach on this project soon enough. They have to sooner than later.
  9. No joke. Cover most nights, expensive booze and no good looking girls. Not a good mix.
  10. Jack Quinn's sucked, that's why it closed. They didn't even had real Irish beer but had plenty of Bud Light.
  11. Norfolk's current courthouses are real ghetto, its shocking there hasn't been more violence down there. These proposals sound very promising.
  12. I'm sorry, but it is almost impossible to go through the HRBT at 85, unless it is 3 in the morning. The state isn't run by rural delegates and I wish people would stop saying that. Howell and Chichester are from Stafford County and Fredericksburg respectively, and Wardrup the House Transportation head is from Virginia Beach.
  13. That flyover connecting the Beltway to I-95 South is amazing. Has to be at least 15 stories high.
  14. Its going to be interesting to see how this turns out. Honestly, it could go either way, huge success or finanical bust.
  15. I'm guessing they are going to reduce seating by around 5,000 and add luxury boxes and or club seating to one sideline.
  16. Liberals always pull the race card when they losing an argument, that's nothing new.
  17. They better mandate EZ-Passes or you are looking at a modern day traffic hell.
  18. As the transportation drama turns, cracks began to appear in the House "unity"
  19. Personally, I think a lack of foresight and incompetence at VDOT were the biggest problems with transportation in this state, not worthless pork projects. Like I said before, most of the transportation issues in Hampton Roads except for the third crossing can be fixed with a reasonable rise in the gas tax and tolls.
  20. As a Delegate or Senator, you don't "have" vote with your party leadership, but more often than not, they do. The Speaker, President pro tempore of the Senate and the Governor usually set the legislative agenda. Two of these men were from Norfolk and held these positions for a decent amout of time.
  21. Suffolk is trying to do it right by concentrating growth in Northern Suffolk and redeveloping Downtown. Hopefully, those who are trying to open massive development south of downtown will continued to be thwarted.
  22. Thomas Moss(Norfolk) Stanley Walker(Norfolk) were Speaker of the House and President of the Senate respectively for many years in the General Assembly, so I wish people stop with this conspiracy theory crap. If you want to complain about Hampton Roads getting "shortchanged" on transportation money, its not very to get involved in your local Republican and or Democratic parties, and start asking question and getting involved. The Gas Tax hasn't been raised in 20 years, you shouldn't be surprised there is little money new projects.
  23. Everything on the Hampton Roads Wish List, except for the third crossing can be built with reasonable tolls. There is an obvious lack of revenue dictated to roads that needs to solved ASAP.
  24. Honestly, how much long are the Marlins going to keep on doing this relocation crap. It seem like they have been fighting Miami over a stadium for going on a decade now.
  25. The Pilot is a poorly written paper, but it is a little far the say they are doom and gloom.
