  1. They are using Winston hotel group, hope it’s a Marriott hotel. Here’s is the entire proposal https://downtownmemphis.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/2.-Woods_100NMainDevPartners_Proposal_Final.pdf
  2. Agreed! Let’s see what happens it’s definitely on the DMC radar to move mlgw, Speaking as a native Memphian I’m just proud that 100 N main has a bright future, u can’t build a 37 story tower like that one in today’s market. That roof top restaurant should be amazing!! It’s an exciting time to be a Memphian.
  3. There has been talk of movingMlgw from there current site on S. Main. It would make a great location for condos/ apts/ retail and enhance the foot traffic in that area near Beale. As far as Thomas building there was a plan to develop it into apts, not sure if that’s still on table or not. That footprint on S main would be awesome to redevelop right near all the action!
  4. Here’s the video of the 100 N main lead developers. Great job! Landing this project. https://www.actionnews5.com/2022/01/20/development-group-selected-revitalize-memphis-tallest-building/
  5. Glad to see it has hotel component. That’s needed especially if Lowes doesn’t break ground. It’s a nice project the apts, retail, restaurant, parking , is good for that section of N. Main. Now if Lowes can get done, that would be an excellent number of hotels near convention center. Let’s hope Grand Hyatt gets done too. Sterick building your up next!
  6. If has the right backing and plan it could do wonders for our city core and suburbs. This is what we should have gotten done 20 years ago.
  7. This is a team that is very exciting to watch and a real threat in the west. JA is a star and we have a very deep team. Grizzlies are dangerous and can only get better.
  8. I agree it should start by going thru downtown/ Overtonsquare/liberty park- to airport. Good point. See petition if u agree with the merits sign and share. https://chng.it/Jnb9rKDQFq
  9. https://www.commercialappeal.com/story/money/business/2022/01/12/mata-light-rail-memphis-transport-ford-workers/9109426002/ Blue Oval city has Mata planning better public transit option transporting Memphian to and from site. They believe blue oval will give the density to justify the cost. Thoughts every one
  10. More Airport pics, our airport will certainly be ready to host NBA all star weekend. https://flymemphis.com/modernization-images/
  11. Here’s the CA article https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.commercialappeal.com/amp/2659768002 New daisy is perfect for HOB location infrastructure is already in place as far as restaurant and bar keep in mind there is daisy #2 across the street that seats 600 it could be the additional space needed. Here’s a look @ it http://www.mississippibluestravellers.com/daisy-theatre-329-beale-street-memphis-tennessee/
  12. That’s good news glad we are improving our hotel infrastructure. We are trending in the right direction, our convention center is nice now and we continue to add more entertainment in key sections of the city (liberty park ) inkwell cocktail bar(edge district) IMO if 901 fc selects CA site for soccer specific stadium that would help edge become that 4th major entertainment district with bars, retail/ possibly movie theater & other lively entertainment that could be a great tourist and 360 day a year destination. Another big plus is our airport has redesigned its concourse B 214 million dollars that will be sure to accommodate passengers flying in to all star weekend that’s huge, see video @ bottom. Waiting to hear that House of Blues will be coming to downtown / edge district area that would give us that ultra loung that NBA stars/ celebrities like to hang out in (foundation Room) can u copy paste that MBJ article don’t have subscription
  13. Yes that’s about right.let’s just hope it gets redeveloped in the next two - three years. That would be a big addition and enhance our chances to host 2026 all star along with all the other infrastructure that’s under construction. Hmm I wonder if the city has considered hosting a NBA Draft that could be a prelude to hosting all star weekend if we show we can pull that off effectively that would put a feather in our cap for all star
  14. Everyone that agrees we should pursue all star weekend please like and share page https://www.facebook.com/Bring-NBA-All-Star-weekend-To-Memphis-2441984269355211/
  15. MSC would be ideal for the celebrity game. There will be a RFP come out soon for coliseum, my understanding is the plan is to reduce seating to about 5, 000 fixed seats with an additional 1500 floor seats. 6500 would be great! Liberty Park is well under construction with two hotels/ entertainment/ retail also Tobey park is in the plan to be redeveloped so u could host a celebrity softball game there. Close to Overton Square (Memphian) hotel/ entertainment right there too. With the walk on union in the works let’s hope that gives the edge a shot in the arm for more infill maybe a KC live! Sixth st(AustinTx) type of redo/ vibe. But definitely 2026 is a realistic timeline to bid for All star weekend a lot should be completed by then. Lowes, 100N main, should be done.
  16. Here’s a look @ the direction USL is going in. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.forbes.com/sites/michaellore/2020/03/03/usl-expansion-centered-around-stadium-anchored-entertainment-districts/amp/
  17. Audi field in DC sits on 8.5 acres CA site is 12.57 acres with the adjacent edge district being promoted as the next retail/ entertainment corridor with some already established anchors Sun Studios (tourists) High Cotton, Memphis Made brewery Ravine Orion credit union, South west community college and UT , restaurants slim and husky etc. Add a 10,000 seat fut’bol stadium and the edge could become the cities new entertainment district. A look @ Audi field DC https://populous.com/project/dc-united-stadium
  18. Memphis should be pursuing 2026 NBA all star weekend. We are continuing to add more hotels in Downtown/ midtown area that should help meet the 6,000 room requirement last count was around 4,000 rooms currently with 2,000 more planned. If we continue to build our infrastructure the right way we should be ready by 2026 to host. Overton square & Beale street are ready we need main st/ edge district to move forward with more hotel/ entertainment/ retail / restaurants. https://www.nba.com/nba-all-star-weekend-future-locations
  19. I saw that it got voted in let’s see if it breaks ground lot could happen, that organization is a disaster right now
  20. I’m all for pursuing the Jaguars . If they can’t get their stadium situation resolved I believe we can land them if we agree to fund a stadium. The lease Jacksonville has expires 2030.
  21. I saw the article about Butler Row, that adds to the potential patrons of a new stadium. Let’s see what happens In 2022 with that area, it has the potential/ land mass for an exciting development. I looked it up and Lynn stadium just the stadium sits on 15 acres. That Vance/ Hernando site is desirable and steps away from Beale/ S main. I would hope 901 fc would do an academy as well as a stadium since USL is adding academy’s to their portfolio. Something like this would be exciting in that area. https://eleven-park.com/
  22. It has been quite about the LB renovation. Not sure what the next step is hopefully we will hear something soon. As far as Soccer Specific Stadium, Vance/ Hernando may be the location if the city can obtain all the land. I have driven by there a few time just to survey, it’s at least 20 acres possibly more if u include the other plots of vacant land adjacent to the apartments/ junkyard. CA site will cost 20-25 million according to a developer that looked @ site and does projects in the edge district that’s a lot of money upfront to get started on a possible development. I’ll mention this the downtown TDZ ends in 2031 and USL wants there franchises in soccer specific stadiums by 2025/2026 so u can expect something to start coming out about a sss plan soon otherwise they stand the risk of losing the franchise. That’s why Louisville had to build the Lynn family stadium it’s considered the crown jewel of USL @ a cost of about 80 million. I see us doing something in that range with TDZ funds available I would hope for a 100-110 million dollar stadium that would Be able to draw big time soccer events/ USL/ Nwsl/ NCAA soccer tournaments, lacrosse/ high school football games/ festivals and more. Just my hope.
  23. Here’s a update on grand Hyatt Developer Chance Carlisle said people can expect to see a flurry of activity at the site in 2022, including new dining options and work on two hotels. Fancy’s Fish House seafood restaurant is slated to open in February or March. Work will also begin on Amelia Gene’s, a fine-dining establishment for the 5-acre campus. Work will wrap up on the second hotel at the development, the Caption by Hyatt, and a grand opening is currently planned for May or June. Shovels will likely go in the ground on the Grand Hyatt, the third hotel planned for One Beale, in March or April, Carlisle said.
