  1. Looking through his portfolio, he was involved in the Half Moone Terminal, Ocean Beach Club, Old Dominion Housing, the Virginia Beach Convention Center, Operation Smile Headquarters, restoration of the Selden Arcade, replaced the courtyard for the Chrysler Museum, and Atlantic Shores. Hmm, looks pretty good! http://www.clarknexsen.com/ Hmm, I seem to have been in a building designed by the group everyday here at Tech!
  2. Posts in the Norfolk Development thread that preceded this thread: Project location:
  3. Can't say that I am surprised, not many buildings are getting Financing right now. Just wait a couple of years for the banks to start lending again, Silverstein had to get financing from the Port authority for WTC 2 and the Chicago Spire is trying to get some financing from AFL-CIO pension plans, so we are not alone here.
  4. http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=203056723120&ref=nf ^ I was a bit frustrated
  5. vdogg, did you hack the Pilot and post this?
  6. Unfortunately at the Newtown station, chain-link seems to have been installed. Someone should plant some vines to grow on it or shrubs.
  7. It was only a few years ago that big old freight locomotives ran down there (I remember them going by my pool) There should still be barriers along the line. I think they are really worried about traffic through the neighbor hood, which could be remedied by building the park and rides on the northern industrial/office area that is part of the Newtown SGA.
  8. How bad is the economy when a temporary rink falls through? http://hamptonroads.com/2009/12/plans-fall-through-oceanfront-ice-rink
  9. Norfolk 1984 looks like more of a parking lot than a city.... we have come quite a way
  10. I didn't get a bad vibe, they are just a little concerned about station design, which is what the city will take into account. They are not up in arms against, they just want a little consideration, much better than what others shout.
  11. I am not too sure about the Warehouse, looks crummy right now.... However, does anyone get a Richmond vibe from this project, that is a good thing (Which reminds me, we need a capital Ale house!)

  17. Hmm, I put "Water's edge Norfolk" in google maps and it is in front of my Church! I am pretty sure someone messed up there Anyhow, here is the real location discussed

  21. Someone would redo the giant brick building across the street from wells Fargo, reminds me of the Berry Burk in Richmond:
  22. I wouldn't say bites the dust, I would imagine especially in that area that retail will be eventually warranted, after all the Painted Lady and Doumar's are in that area. As for the apartments, well that probably got the axe.
  23. Its official! http://www.virginiabusiness.com/index.php/news/article/commercial-real-estate-round-up2/202407/ So should this be listed on its own, in the light rail thread, or in the town center thread?
  24. I would guess that the area would be at most industrial, but I would not mind it being a large greenbelt http://hamptonroads.com/2009/11/beach-plans-study-find-best-use-land-near-oceana
