    The Vue

Any ideas on a time table for Construction (specifically when it is to start)? With all this talk of Bubbles and all, I would really like to have a shovel in the ground on this project by October (preferably sooner). It is quite possibly the one project I was REALLY hoping to see rise out of the ground above all of the other. It will really stretch our skyline out quite nicely. Any News? A2
  2. Thanks for the recent pics tarik. Looks like progress to meand that area is really starting to come along now! The more people who are willing to take great shots the better. BTW, welcome to UP! A2
  3. Quick question guys... Do we know of any "connector projects" that are announced or soon to be announced, from Courtside to the Arena, and on up into the actual CBD? The reason I ask is because the Urban experience is dramatically hampered (even by car) when you drive from First Ward (Courtside) through to the CBD. It really eats at me. I am not referring to Levine's land (at least I don't think I am ) Any ideas?????? A2
  4. It's in the latest edition of the "Uptown" magazine. They are all around Uptown and are free . It is the nicest rendering that I have seen of the project thus far. A2
  5. On the "rough renderings" that I saw I noted a tower on one of the corners of the project. Will this be something like a Johnston & Whales tower where it is just used for aesthetics, or will it actually be a tower that is "occupied"? A2
  6. Just curious....Why do you think that they would "fail" on the first round? Is that something that happens a lot? The only reason I ask is because the planned development seems to "fit" in the neighborhood. It is residential, dense, but not overbearing. Does the failure on the permits relate to other issues a developer might run into (ie Plumming, or Electrical), during the permiting process through the city? (Please excuse my ignorance on this since I am not in the Industry. I just thought it would have been approved, that's all)
  7. Yes it is nice to see some action here. I just wish we could get something done about the Epicurean! I am not sure I will ever see anything get built there due to the owner's unwillingness to work out another design with the city and Dilworth. A2
  8. Again, another awesome project for Charlotte! I am extremely happy about this and the location. A2
  9. I love it too appatone! This is Simply Southern and quite awesome! A2
  10. Thanks so much Blazer85! I knew one of you Urban Junkies would be able to satisfy my curiosity. A2
  11. Guys I know this has probably already been highlighted in this thread, but what is being built around the "bend on I-59" once you leave Center City heading towards the I-65 ramp going to Montgomery. There are Two Cranes constructing a bldg. very close to the old concrete plant. I went by last weekend when I was in the "Salty Ham" visiting family. It was a quick trip from CLT, but I was really excited when I saw the two cranes. I thought that it might be the The Southern Power Co Expanding, am I right? Please excuse my ignorance and lazyness for not searching all through this thread. A2
  12. ^^^As much as I hate what you typed metro, I agree 100%. His interests would be best served by allowing his land to rest as an island surface lots in a sea of development, thus propelling his profits ever higher. (if and when he sell or develops the highly desireable property) While I hate this from an Urban Junkie stance, I find NO FAULT in his practices for being a capitalist. God Bless America! A2
  13. When will we get something of height on Central Ave? Say Somthing in the 10-20 story range. Is this even possible given current zoning? I have always thought that a high rise on Central would have some INCREDIBLE views looking towards Uptown. A2
  14. USAir would be ill served to link up with the debt laden, bankrupt Delta. Not that USAir is in much better shape, but a marriage of the two would be like the blind leading the blind. Delta only wishes they could marry someone that just got lasik surgery. lol. Delta take it back to ATL, we don't want what you are selling! A2
  15. I think my walk in closet is larger than 400 sq feet. Yikes. A2
  16. Thanks atlrvr! I am wondering who will be the first to top the Height of the SouthPark Towers on Fairview? Possibly Novare? (or will we see the cap on any future high rises stop short of their height?) A2
  17. What is the height of the condo/hotel tower in the pic ? A2
  18. What is the estimated time line on the Grubb "build out" out of Elizabeth? Are we talking a decade, or just a couple of years? A2
  19. Oops you got me. I did mean stories, not stores. I am sure that the villiage will be gaining many more than 7. A2
  20. I believe it is 7. It is as tall as it is going to get right now. I like it though. Just wished it were a wee bit taller (ie 12-14 stories), but I certainly won't bash it. BTW the development on the corner of Park and Fairview is moving along nicely, plus Morrison project is officially capped. Then there is the Medical Offices going up accross from Phillips Place. YEAH ! A2
  21. I saw that too atlrvr. I did get a bit excited, but failed to post anything. However, it is nice to see some progress on the site. A2
